This advanced technology stands to benefit everyone in Grey-Bruce who may need this care. Brightshores Health System is deeply grateful to Carl Churchill and his family for their generous and meaningful donation.

We're thrilled to announce that Carl Churchill and his family have generously donated $117,000, funding a new cEEG!
“For our most critically ill patients, this advanced technology provides a continuous, uninterrupted view of their brain activity, enabling our clinical teams to detect and respond to neurological changes in a timely way,” said Beth Morris, VP Clinical Programs, Quality & Chief Nursing Executive. “Continuous EEG monitoring in our Intensive Care Unit will better support our team to provide more personalized and responsive care to patients. The Churchill’s donation will have a lasting impact on the lives and health of communities across Grey-Bruce.”
Thank you, Churchill family!

A new, state-of-the-art CT scanner has arrived at our Owen Sound Hospital and will be operational this fall.

This machine's leading-edge technology offers faster, clearer, and more comfortable imaging—helping physicians diagnose strokes, cancers, internal injuries, and more with speed and accuracy. The new scanner will also support the regional stroke program, advancing care for patients across the region.

The Owen Sound scanner complements the second CT scanner introduced in Southampton in fall 2023, strengthening access to advanced imaging across our health system.

While installation is underway, a mobile CT unit—located in the Owen Sound Emergency Department parking lot—is in place to ensure uninterrupted diagnostic care.

Our foundations recently completed fundraising for this new machine. We are grateful to our foundations and the many donors for their support.

Two secondary school graduates with Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB) are the first to receive scholarships dedicated exclusively to Indigenous students who are pursuing post-secondary education in the healthcare field.

Brightshores Health System and Medical Surgical & Safety Supplies (MSS) presented the scholarships to the two students at a ceremony in June.

This year’s recipients were Madeline Carson from Peninsula Shores District School and Jordin DesRosiers from Grey Highlands Secondary School.

“Congratulations to Madeline and Jordin on this significant achievement and for their leadership in helping to shape a more responsive, culturally safe healthcare system,” said Rebecca Cummings, Vice President, People & Corporate Services, Chief Operating Officer.
