🌟Heartfelt Gesture from Millie🌟
"You give what you love to those that you love." This beautiful sentiment was brought to life by one of our amazing residents, Millie. Recently, she invited members of the Grey Bruce Hospice and Grey Bruce Hospice Foundation teams to her room to share a special gift.
Millie, who has a lovely farm in the Walters Falls area, has collected stunning artwork from local artist Pie Atkinson. These pieces have always brought her joy in her home, and she decided to pass that joy on to us. Our Environmental Service Coordinator, Tony, graciously hung the artwork in her room, allowing Millie to continue enjoying them while she’s at hospice.
Thank you, Millie, for this touching reminder of the joy that comes from giving. Your kindness inspires us all! 💖✨

Yesterday, Tracey and Linda Doll traveled from Port Elgin to generously donate $5,000 from this year’s memorial Brad Doll Bonspiel.
In 2016, Brad was a resident at Grey Bruce Hospice, and since then, his family has organized this Bonspiel in his memory, donating all proceeds to Chapman House.
We are exceedingly grateful for their ongoing support, which helps ensure that other families can receive the exceptional palliative care that Brad experienced. Thank you, Tracey and Linda, for honoring Brad’s legacy in such a meaningful way. ❤️

One of our beloved residents, Millie, played beautifully for her friends and family, filling the atmosphere with joy and warmth. 🌟 Music has always been a significant part of Millie's life, and it was heartwarming to see her share that passion with everyone around her.
A heartfelt shoutout to her son, Leonard, who has also been incredibly kind, serenading other residents with his amazing talents on guitar. Together, they create such a beautiful melody of love and connection. 💖 Thank you, Millie and Leonard, for reminding us of the power of music in our lives! 🎵✨

URGENT HELP NEEDED
A Message from the Executor Director of the Grey-Bruce Hospice:
I hope that you and your loved ones are safe and in good health. As essential service providers, we are closely following all of the government Coronavirus guidelines for the safety of our residents, families, employees and the Grey-Bruce Community.
The Grey-Bruce Hospice is a vitally important service in our community and we need your help to assist with the financial challenge we face during the Coronavirus outbreak.
We are asking for donations to help support our Grey Bruce Community Hospice via our fundraising page.
If you are not able to donate, we understand it's a difficult time and ask you to further the cause by sharing our message with friends and family.
This unprecedented time has created plenty of concerns for individuals and businesses who struggle to make ends meet and to pay their bills. Many not-for-profit organizations like ours have also been impacted with the struggle to safely deliver essential services.
As The Grey-Bruce Hospice was built by our community for our community, our funds are only raised within our community.
That is why the greatest challenge facing The Grey Bruce Hospice during the Coronavirus outbreak is our inability to do our regular fundraising activities. Activities like Casino Night at Legacy Ridge and Hike for Hospice that raise 200k+ per year.
What you may not know is that these funds are essential to cover 51% of our costs which are not covered by the government. Meeting our fundraising goals allows us to ease the final journey of over 750 within our community since our doors opened.
Today, even though we receive funding for 8 licensed beds, at any given point in time we have a waiting list of 20 or more people referred by their physician for hospice palliative care. Hospice frees up important hospital beds that at a time like now are in short supply.
