Interested in becoming a First Responder?
There will be a course held at the R.M. of Enniskillen Wellness Centre, September 26-28 and October 3-5. Details can be found below.
The First Responder Course covers essential topics such as the patient assessment model, airway management, tourniquet use, and traction splinting.
The training is delivered using dynamic techniques such as video presentations, media demonstrations, skills practice sessions, discussions and scenarios based on real-life situations. Get hands-on experience and practical skills that can help you save lives.
Duration - 40 hours
Prerequisites - Standard First Aid with CPR C
Reference from their local First Responder group, and be present for all dates and times of the course.
Criminal background check, including vulnerable check sector. A letter will be provided to take to their local RCMP to obtain a Criminal background check.
Completion
• Successfully demonstrate the required skills
• Minimum 75% mark for written, closed-book, knowledge evaluation
• Successfully complete two evaluated scenarios (one each, medical and trauma)
The course would consist of evening Webex (online) and weekend in-person sessions.
The dates of the course are:
September 26 (1800-2200) – Webex
September 27 (0900-1800) – in person
September 28 (0900-1800) – in person
October 3 (1800-2200) – Webex
October 4 (0900-1800) - in person
October 5 (0900-1800) – in person

We need a minimum of 4 participants to go ahead with the First Responder Course, and the maximum is 6 participants.
