What Is Energy Healing?

Energy healing is a gentle way of supporting the body and spirit to return to balance. It works by creating a calm, supportive space where the body’s natural healing wisdom can be accessed.

Energy healing is not new. It has existed across cultures for generations and has always been part of how people cared for their well-being—physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally.

Energy Healing as a Broad Term

Energy healing includes many different techniques, practices, and culture-specific ways of supporting healing. For example, Reiki is one well-known form of energy healing that comes from Japanese culture. Over time, Reiki has spread around the world and is now practiced in many places outside its culture of origin, especially where people may not have access to their own traditional ways of healing.

The Impacts of Colonization

Colonization disrupted many traditional healing practices. Ceremonies and teachings were suppressed or outlawed, and the spiritual aspects of healing were often removed. As a result, many people and cultures became disconnected from their ancestral ways of caring for the spirit. Today, many ancestral healing practices are labeled as “alternative” or “new age,” when in fact they are traditional and longstanding.

Why I Chose Energy Healing

After years of exploring different healing practices, including completing my Reiki Level One, I realized I wanted something that felt more authentic to my Mi’kmaq lineage. I spent years searching for a Mi’kmaq-specific equivalent, but had no luck.

Exploring My Intuitive, Ancestral Way

I chose to return to the basics—working with energy in a general, intuitive way. This allows me to be guided by my spirit and ancestors as I reconnect with and remember my own ancestral way of healing, in a way that is authentic to both my lineage and who I am in this lifetime.

What Energy Healing Can Do for You

Energy healing can help you feel calmer, more grounded, and balanced. It can release stress, tension, or emotional heaviness, restore energy, and support the body and spirit’s natural ability to heal.

When Might You Benefit?

You might benefit if you feel drained, stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from your body and spirit—or if you simply want to nurture your well-being and reconnect with your inner guidance.

Offering to Community

I am now offering Energy Healing to the Pabineau community. Sessions are available in person or online, are free to community members, and can be booked directly with me at (506) 549-9900 or Brittany.pabineau@gmail.com

TONIGHT Wednesday December 10th from 6:00pm-7:00pm we will have Death Doula Karine Cormier join us for our Grief Group with Alisha Nini!

What is a Death Doula/Worker?

A death doula (or end-of-life worker) is someone who supports individuals and families through the final stages of life with non-medical emotional, spiritual, and practical care. They help people feel informed, comforted, and never alone.

Every death doula is unique — their services differ based on what each doula chooses to focus on, whether that’s emotional support, bedside presence, legacy work, ritual, planning, or early grief support.

Overall, a death doula is someone who walks beside you, offering comfort, dignity, and clarity during one of life’s most tender transitions.

About Karine!

She has a degree in radiology, working in the hospital field for around 10 years. On her path, she explored other fields and became interested in healing modalities. She currently share's yoga classes in our studio in Bathurst all around improving spine health through postures and awareness. In 2023, she enrolled for her death doula training which was eye opening for her. She is a firm believer that death care for all is a community act of resilience. When we practice bearing witness for each other's joys, grieves, births and deaths we become more in touch with the preciousness of life.
