TRUVITAL Animal Health TRUVITAL Animal Health is based out of Southwestern Ontario. TRUVITAL Animal Health is a subsidiary of Mapleview Agri Ltd.

Our main focus is antibiotic stewardship through the research and development of related animal health products. founded in 2010 and located in Southwestern Ontario and a leading manufacturer of calf, lamb and kid goat milk replacers across Canada. Mapleview also owns and operates a research facility, investigating calf health products, feed ingredients, as well as feed and vitamin supplements. Projects are conducted internally, as well as with academic and industry partners globally. TRUVITAL Animal Health specializes in the development, validation, and distribution of calf health products. Our focus is antibiotic stewardship, through the research and development of products and services that can assist producers with responsibly reducing antibiotic use.

Truvitalyte Max is a scientifically proven and economical solution for maintaining electrolyte balance, providing essential electrolyte components, and providing critical vitamin supplementation in calves.

A research trial was conducted at the Mapleview Future Performance Research Centre to test the effect of Truvitalyte-Max on weight gain, hydration, and blood gas parameters in calves.

When comparing blood measures in dehydrated calves to measures of a healthy calf, Truvitalyte Max administration resulted in improvements over a 24 hour period.
The results of the trial show that administering Truvitalyte-Max to calves with diarrhea resulted in improved acid base status and bicarbonate level after 8 hours, and increased pH and partial pressure of carbon dioxide. Overall, Truvitalyte Max reduced risk of metabolic acidosis in dehydrated calves.

📈 We completed research trials to investigate the effects of Lactifen as a supplement for health and growth in calves and to assist with diarrhea recovery.

What are the overall findings?

Lactifen can help to reduce the severity and frequency of diarrhea to improve weight gain when administered to calves. In this study it reduced the need for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and antimicrobials in calves with diarrhea. Lactifen can safely and effectively reduce antimicrobial use and dependence.
