Our world today is changing faster than ever before when it comes to our personal lives, relationships and careers. At times, it can feel as if we are ‘stuck,’ our goals are unachievable and that personal change isn’t possible. For over 10 years I have worked with and have been passionate about helping those in my community produce positive changes in their lives and achieve their goals. I’ve work
ed with clients in numerous social service and educational settings providing career coaching, traditional counselling, mentorship and support services. While my education and training have been a major assets in helping my clients, it has always been my natural ability to connect with people and form trusting, goal-oriented and solution-focused relationships with them, leading to significant growth and reaching both short and long-term goals. It is always my mission to inspire my clients not only grow and achieve change in their lives, but believe and succeed in leading more personally fulfilled and inspired lives each day. I am a believer that no single coaching or ‘counselling’ approach will be beneficial to every individual. While we all tend to share many basic traits, we are also very different and should be viewed as individuals when it comes to any type of relationship. In other words, we don’t all fit into a mold or one ‘box.’ I view every client I work with as unique, capable and skilled. Because of this, I tailor my approach to coaching in a way that respects and suits each client’s needs, personality and goals. I utilize a proven and effective Solution-Focused approach to coaching and I have used this approach in my work as a counsellor and career coach with much success. My experience working with individuals from all walks of life, young, old, student, professional, and disabled, I have been shown time and time again that every person, no matter their situation, is capable of change and achieving their goals. If a person ‘wants it bad enough’ and is accountable for their actions, change is 100% possible. As someone who experienced the debilitating effects of anxiety throughout my adolescence and young adulthood, I faced an uphill battle in leading a healthy, fulfilling and inspired life. By recognizing early that I needed help, I was able to achieve my goal of not only going to university, but obtaining my master’s degree, allowing me to begin my work in counselling and coaching and giving back to and inspiring those in my community. My educational background includes a MA in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in Fredericton, New Brunswick and a Hons. BA Contemporary Studies & Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University in Brantford, Ontario. I am also a Certified Coach Practitioner (Life Coach) and now a Registered Social Worker (RSW).
