This December, in true “keeping it real” fashion, I found myself finishing my makeup in the arena bathroom at my son's hockey tournament, between his game and my husband's work Christmas dinner.
Hair half-done, eyes closed in the photo I snapped, posture doing me zero favours — and I thought,
“Well… this is me.” 🤷♀️🤦♀️
And honestly? It felt like the perfect reflection of what I say to my clients all the time when they walk into my office and I’m searching for my glasses, or my hair is still wet from my shower, or I have that toothpaste dribble ony shirt, or I’m just doing my best to catch up with the day:
I’m just keeping it real for you.
Because life is messy.
Real. Imperfect.
And I’m right here, navigating it all as a human first.
But more importantly — this is the same authenticity I ask from my clients.
Not perfection.
Not polished emotions.
Not pretending everything is fine.
Just you… as you are.
Because that’s how healing actually happens.
When you show up authentically, I can meet you authentically.
When you bring your real human experience, I bring mine.
And together, we create a space where your nervous system can soften, your body can feel safe, and your true self can breathe.
So here’s to messy hair, last-minute moments, arena-bathroom makeup, and being fully human.
And here’s to the healing that becomes possible when we stop trying to be perfect — and start being real.
