For a safe and enjoyable experience of today’s solar eclipse, we strongly encourage watching it online.

Direct observation of the sun, especially during an eclipse, can lead to permanent and irreversible eye damage. The safest way to witness this celestial event is through the Exploratorium’s live stream https://www.exploratorium.edu/eclipse/livestream, which offers a risk-free viewing option.

We remind everyone that no form of sunglasses, homemade filters, or other substitutes can safely protect your eyes from the sun’s rays during an eclipse. Symptoms of eye damage might not appear immediately but could include blurred vision, blind spots, or eye pain among others.
