I wrote this piece because recovery has many pathways — and not all of them are reflected in our national conversation. Yet thousands of Canadians rebuild their lives through abstinence-based recovery, quietly and consistently, without recognition.

It’s deeply personal, and it’s the reason I believe lived-experience voices deserve a real place in the discussion.
