This illustration is a good depiction of what a grief journey actually looks like. It may feel as though people don't seem to understand, and your patience with yourself and others may be short. Just know that there is no definitive "timeline" when it comes to grief - everyone's grief journey looks different, and everyone experiences that grief journey at a different pace. Be gentle with yourself this holiday season, you're doing the best you can.

Our Story

Doug and Eunice opened Bear Creek Funeral Home in December, 2012, with the vision of “caring for each as our own”. Since then, we’ve served hundreds of Peace Country families. Summer of 2016 we opened our second location in Fairview, the home town of our Funeral Director Kristi Heck. Formerly Bear Creek Funeral Home Fairview, has now changed its name to Peace Valley Funeral Home, and is locally owned by Kristi and her brother Kolton Heck along with partners Doug and Eunice Friesen. We are proud to serve, Grimshaw, Peace River, Manning, High Prairie, High Level, Worsley, Spirit River, Valleyview, Falher, and everywhere around and in between. We can meet with you in our office, online through email, Zoom, or in the comfort of your own home.

Our warm and genuine staff are dedicated to each family we serve, from the moment of the first call through our aftercare program.
