I am SO thrilled to have Sydney join my team and I truly cannot believe my practice is growing! As you all know, the patient experience is something I really value and Sydney will be an amazing addition to keep things running smoothly 🥰

5 signs you have insulin resistance! 👇🏼👇🏼

1️⃣ you’re gaining weight and having a hard time losing it! Weight gain from insulin resistance typically comes on around the abdomen but can also be widespread

2️⃣ you have persistent fatigue. Insulin resistance means your blood sugar might not be regulated the way we want it to be, therefore, you may experience a lot of sugar spikes and crashes causing low energy!!

3️⃣ you have irregular cycles. Insulin resistance plays a huge role in ovulation, fertility, and general cycle health. This can often be one of the first signs of insulin resistance!!

4️⃣ you have increase hunger and/or cravings. This goes back to blood sugar regulation… get that sorted and your cravings will massively improve.

5️⃣ you have skin tags or dark pigmentation of your skin.

❌Why I don’t like Intermittent Fasting for Weight Loss ❌

You are unique and your diet, exercise, and overall treatment plan should be too! That being said, sometimes intermittent fasting can be a great tool for weight loss as everyone is different and has different needs.

#1: intermittent fasting does NOT account for hormonal shifts throughout the cycle. Different times of your cycle require shifts in your macronutrient and general intake.

#2: it doesn’t GUARANTEE weight loss. You can lower your caloric intake but that still doesn’t mean you will or that you’ll be eating the right breakdown for your body.

#3: it’s only 1 piece of a very complicated puzzle. Addressing diet alone doesn’t often give long lasting results. We HAVE to address your sleep, stress, potential hormonal imbalance, and blood sugar regulation so that you can achieve your goals.

💃 5 tips to help regulate your cortisol and HACK YOUR STRESS 💃

1. Regular exercise has been shown to reduce anxiety and stress and has even proven to help regulate cortisol levels!! Even gentle exercise has profound impacts so why not try to do at least 30 minutes/day 🏃🏼‍♀️
2. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep and TURN OFF YOUR SCREENS. Not only will this help with your energy the next day but it will also help your mental health 😴
3. Make sure to eat a BALANCED diet. No skipping meals, no skipping macronutrients, and no eating in the go!!!! 🍲
4. Avoid caffeine for the first 60-90 minutes - this helps our energy receptors and will actually stabilize your energy AND mental health throughout the day! ☕️
5. ASK FOR HELP. Advocate for yourself and TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. You can only show up for others once you show up for yourself 🧘🏼‍♀️
