I just want to take a moment to thank everyone for your patience and support lately. Life has been beautifully full — and as many of you know, having a new little one changes your world in ways you can’t always prepare for. 💛

One thing I’ve learned is how important it is to create your network before baby arrives. Your people matter. The ones who remind you to still go out, to keep doing those fun, soul-filling activities, and to take care of you.

And as couples, it’s such a gift to have those real conversations before birth — what you’ll both need, what you expect from each other, what strengths you see in one another, and how you want to parent together.

These conversations don’t just build connection — they protect it. They prevent resentment and keep love steady through the waves of change. 🌿

Let’s keep talking about it, and keep showing up for each other — before, during, and after baby. 💫

🌿 Labour Tip Tuesday 🌿

One of the simplest yet most powerful tools during labour is a hot shower.
Let the warm water cascade down your back—it can melt away tension, ground your focus, and help your body soften into the rhythm of birth.

💧 Try leaning forward against the wall or over a birth ball in the shower while your partner applies gentle acupressure to your lower back or hips. The steady pressure, combined with the soothing heat, can ease intensity, release endorphins, and create a calming focus point when contractions feel strong.

This combo of water + touch isn’t just pain relief—it’s a moment of deep relaxation that reminds your body it’s safe to open and release.

✨ You deserve comfort, presence, and peace in labour. Sometimes all it takes is warm water and loving hands.

Happy Labour Tip Tuesday! I have told all of my mama's...rest early, rest well. When labour begins, give your body the gift of sleep—like resting before running a marathon—so you have the energy for the journey ahead.

Happy Labor Tip Tuesday 🦋
Try the butterfly position to help open your pelvis and encourage baby’s descent.
Sit with your feet together, knees gently dropped outward, and your back supported. This posture helps soften the pelvic floor, improves flexibility, and creates more space for baby to move down.
Pair it with slow, deep breaths to relax your muscles and boost comfort.

"With each breath, I open and welcome my baby closer." 💛

FAQ: What does a doula do during labour, and what does the husband or partner do?

Q: If I have a doula, what will my husband or partner do during labour? Won’t the doula replace them?
A: Not at all! A doula supports both the birthing person and their partner. During labour, the doula provides continuous physical and emotional support—things like suggesting comfort measures, massage, positions, and breathing techniques. They also help explain what’s happening and offer reassurance.

Meanwhile, the partner focuses on loving connection—holding hands, eye contact, and emotional presence. The doula helps guide the partner too, showing them how to offer effective support without pressure or confusion. Together, they make a powerful team, with the doula enhancing—not replacing—the partner’s role.

I am loving the questions so keep them coming!

Labour Tip Tuesday 🌙

Dim the Lights!

Soft lighting helps your body feel safe and relaxed—just like other mammals, we labour best in a calm, private environment. Dimming the lights signals to your brain that it’s safe to let go, encouraging the flow of oxytocin, the hormone that powers contractions and love.

Pro tip: Bring a battery-operated candle or fairy lights to your birth space for a warm, womb-like glow.

Happy Labour Tip Tuesday! ✨

Today we are talking about the Power of Physical Touch 🤲❤️

During labour, loving physical touch from your partner isn’t just comforting — it’s powerful.

💆‍♀️ A simple massage, a hand to hold, or gentle pressure on the lower back can release oxytocin — the “love hormone” that helps labour progress naturally.
💞 Touch helps you feel safe, supported, and connected — all of which can ease tension, reduce pain, and build emotional strength during the most intense moments.
🤝 Your partner doesn’t need to be a professional — just present, calm, and responsive to your cues.

🌿 Labour is not just a physical experience, but an emotional one too. Never underestimate the magic of a warm hand and a steady presence.
