My mother moved here last October, after my father passed away. My siblings and I needed her to live where she would be looked after, safe and happy. It’s been five months and she loves it here. She did even on the very first day. Every resident I speak to says the same thing.
The facility is bright and cheery. There is a lot a natural light, so important for mental health. The rooms have modern decor, with easy-to-clean laminate floors, beautiful cabinetry, and lovely countertops. The food is freshly prepared, varied, and delicious. There are many social events; Mom is never bored nor lonely. It’s an enjoyable place to visit and the facility provides hotel-style rooms for guests to rent at a very reasonable rate.
The staff are caring and compassionate. They are ALL wonderful but there are some superstars: Billy, who gave us our initial tour and made sure every detail was looked after. Susan, who greets Mom with a cheerful smile daily, and made sure to introduce her to a few people on her first day. Rachel and Jennifer, who remember what Mom likes to eat and drink; they have been working here for many years and go the extra mile to deliver great service. Ashley, who efficiently manages the nursing staff and ensures Mom’s health is looked after. Mary, the nurse who did Mom’s intake and is happy to answer Mom’s questions. Meagan, who scans any mail Mom needs emailed to her children and is always happy to help. And Corey, who fixes things as needed, who got Mom a phone until hers was retrieved from the old house, who set up Mom’s t.v., who helped her put up a few shelves in the apartment.
