Too much heat isn't safe for anyone, but older adults can be particularly prone to challenges in regulating body temperature.

Here are some helpful planning tips from the Government of BC:
➡️ Know your home and community's cool zones
➡️ Stay in when it's hot out or limit time in direct sunlight
➡️ Lower your activity level
➡️ Stay well hydrated
➡️ Know the signs of heat stroke, and get medical treatment immediately should it occur

Set a Consistent Bedtime – Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, even on weekends, to regulate your body’s internal clock.

Create a Relaxing Pre-Sleep Routine – Wind down with calming activities like reading, meditation, or a warm bath to signal to your body that it’s time to rest.
