You’d think advocating for recovery is about big speeches or perfect words. But really, it’s the small, intentional actions that make the difference. Speaking up. Learning. Seeing people as whole human beings. They’re not flashy, but they chip away at stigma every day.

If you’re fighting against assumptions, outdated ideas, or the judgment of systems, you’re not alone.
Discovery House is here, and this community stands with you.

Recovery doesn’t end after treatment. It evolves. Continuing care is that next chapter. It’s where the skills built in treatment get put to work in real life. Work, relationships, routines, responsibilities, it’s all there. And this is where it starts to come together.

Setting goals. Managing triggers. Staying grounded. Learning how to build a life outside the walls of treatment. It’s where “what’s next?” slowly turns into “I’ve got this.” Because long-term recovery isn’t just about staying sober. It’s about building a life you want to keep showing up for.

💛 That’s a wrap! A huge thank you to everyone, our incredible sponsors Theo's Restaurant, The Black Antler, Mack's Social House, Penticton Lakeside Resort and Conference Centre, Gratify, Dragonboat Pub, Wayne and Freda Cafe, The Angry Vegan, COBS Bread, and Starbucks Canada, soup makers, voters, and supporters, who made Soup Is Good Food Fundraiser 2026 such a success.

A huge thank you to the sponsors, soup makers, voters, and community members who helped make this year’s fundraiser such a success. Events like this are powered by local businesses and residents coming together to support the men at Discovery House as they rebuild their lives in recovery.

For many sponsors, the reason for participating is deeply personal. As Clint from The Black AntlerThe Black Antler shared:
“Family is what drives us. That’s why we support Discovery House. We believe in strong families and strong communities, and we believe in the men who are working hard to rebuild their lives and reconnect with their families. Supporting Discovery House means supporting that kind of change, and we’re proud to stand behind it.”

That spirit of community support is what makes Soup Is Good Food possible year after year.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, voted, shared a bowl, and supported recovery in our community. We are already looking forward to doing it again next year. ✨

🥇 Ukrainian Beet Borscht by Mack’s Social House

From the first round to the final vote, this fundraiser brought together local restaurants, sponsors, and our amazing community, all showing up in support of addiction recovery and the men at Discovery House.
A huge thank you to all who participated, the sponsors who helped make this fundraiser possible, and everyone who took the time to vote and cheer on their favourite soups along the way.

We also want to give a special shoutout to the men at Discovery House, who rolled up their sleeves and made soups of their own as part of this fundraiser. Recovery takes courage, commitment, and community, and it was incredible to see them be part of something that brings people together while supporting the journey forward.

And of course… major bragging rights to our 2026 champion. 👏 Here’s to good food, great community, and supporting recovery together.

The votes are in, and we’ve got our Week 4 winner! Big congratulations to Dragonboat Pub for taking the Week 4 win. 👏 The community showed up, the votes were counted, and your soup came out on top.

To all the restaurants and chefs who jumped in this week (and throughout the fundraiser), thank you for bringing the flavour and for showing up for Discovery House in such a real way. It’s been pretty incredible seeing the local food community get behind this.

And to everyone who voted, shared, and cheered these soups on week after week, you helped make this fundraiser what it is.

But we’re not finished yet… 👀
