Contrast therapy is the force multiplier for everything else in your wellness routine.

Here’s how it compounds:

Your workouts: Heat increases blood flow to muscles, flushing out metabolic waste faster. Cold reduces inflammation and soreness. You recover in 24 hours instead of 72, which means you can actually train consistently. đŸ’Ș

Your sleep: Regular heat exposure helps regulate your circadian rhythm. Your body learns when to heat up & cool down. Plus, the parasympathetic activation from the hot/cold cycle makes it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep. 😮

Your stress management: Most stress-reduction techniques (meditation, breathwork, yoga) work by activating your parasympathetic nervous system. Contrast therapy trains that system to activate on command, making all those practices more effective. 🧘

Your mental clarity: Increased circulation means more oxygen to your brain. Cold exposure triggers norepinephrine (focus chemical). Heat reduces cortisol (brain fog chemical). The result: better decisions, sharper thinking. 🧠

70 minutes a session makes everything else work harder.

That’s why people who start coming to Shelter see improvements across their entire life, not just one area!

A Shelter must
 arrive hydrated! 💧

You’re about to spend 15 minutes in 80°C + heat. Your body is going to sweat. A lot. If you walk in already running on empty, you’re going to feel lightheaded, cut your session short, and miss out on the benefits.

Here’s what to do instead: drink 16-24 oz of water in the hour before your session. Not coffee. Not an energy drink. Just water.

Bring a water bottle with you (we have a refill station and complimentary electrolytes).

Sip between cycles. Your body will thank you.

The people who have the best sessions are the ones who show up prepared! Hydration is half the work.

❌Your body wasn’t designed for sitting all day, staring at screens, and never truly resting.

Contrast therapy doesn’t fix everything. But it fixes a lot of what modern life breaks.

Heat and cold force your body to do what it’s supposed to do: regulate, recover, and reset.

The more consistently you do it, the better your body gets at handling the chaos of everyday life.
