It’s been brought to my attention that I need to clarify myself for those who may be new here—or familiars who need a reminder—my name is Melissa Smith, and for the past five years I have been the owner of Riverside Natural Health Clinic, located at 1275 W Riverside Drive in Perth-Andover.
My work in this field didn’t start recently—and my education didn’t happen by chance.
When you are called to help people, it starts early. For me, it began as a child, watching a parent recover from a bilateral carpal tunnel release—painful, swollen hands and healing scars that needed care. That experience stayed with me and shaped the path I chose.
By 2004, I was already learning hands-on, working alongside experienced practitioners, and building real-world skills from the ground up. By 2005, I was volunteering at athletic events and assisting with post-operative scar work.
This has never been a phase or a side interest solely for a paycheck.
It has been my life’s work to help people in pain.
After graduating high school in 2008, I continued my education at the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage, where I continued extensive hands-on training and gained experience working with varsity athletes, endurance events, and international teams. After working in both New Brunswick and Saskatchewan, I continued my education in 2017 through the Atlantic School of Reflexology, further building the foundation of the practice I run today.
Every step I’ve taken has been intentional.
For over five years in this community, In this space, I have worked with athletes, individuals in pain, people recovering from injury, and those simply looking to move and feel better in their everyday lives.
That is what I do.
My work is built on experience, education, and results—not assumptions or outside opinions.
