The Spring Equinox is here, and in Chinese medicine, that means Liver season!
Think of your Liver as your body’s traffic controller — it keeps everything moving smoothly, from your energy to your hormones to your emotions. But when it gets a little overwhelmed (which happens a lot in our busy lives), you might notice:
➡️ Feeling extra irritable or snappy
➡️ PMS, cramps, or mood swings before your period
➡️ Bloating, sluggish digestion, or feeling “blah” after eating
➡️ Waking up between 1-3am and struggling to fall back asleep
➡️ Stiff muscles or tension headaches
If any of this sounds familiar, don’t worry! Spring is the perfect time to hit refresh and support your Liver so you can feel lighter, more energized, and balanced.
Here’s how you can show your Liver some love:
𝐄𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧
Think fresh, light, and a little sour:
🌱 Add more leafy greens (dandelion, arugula, spinach or kale)
🍋 Sip on lemon water or enjoy fermented foods (hello, kimchi & sauerkraut!)
🍃 Sprinkle in fresh herbs like mint, cilantro, and parsley
𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲
💃🏼 Stretching, yoga, strength training, or even a dance party in your kitchen
🧘♀️ Deep belly breathing to release stress & open up flow
🌳 Getting outside — fresh air & movement are a Liver dream team
𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭! Your Liver detoxes at night, so aim to be asleep before 11 PM. Bonus points if you wind down with tea and a book instead of doomscrolling.
Supporting your Liver now will set you up for a year of better health, balanced hormones, and emotional ease 🤍
