March is Nutrition Month!

This year's focus is on "Nourish to Flourish". Though some may consider it a vague topic, I'm hoping we can appreciate it's simplicity: Eat well to feel your best. If you're feeling stuck with nutrition, consider some tips below.

- Build a balanced, standard grocery list of staples to have all the time. Include easy proteins (eggs, pumpkin seeds, pulses, frozen peas or edamame beans, canned fish, greek yogurt, cheese), easy produce (frozen mixed vegetables, root vegetables like carrots and turnips, greens), and easy, high-fibre grains (oats, rice or quinoa, potatoes, wraps).

-Cook only as frequently as needed (plan leftovers every second and or third day). Include others in the house to help cook and plan.

-Eat at consistent times (don't skip meals!). Take time to eat and enjoy your meal with someone.

Find your free Dietitians of Canada cookbook here: https://www.dietitians.ca/DietitiansOfCanada/media/Images/Site/courses/DC-Cookbook_March-9.pdf

If you have questions or want to maximize your 'flourish', please book in with me, Jenna Walsh, RD, CDE. PCFHC patients can book directly here: https://veribook.com/ew.jsp?cpUserId=764744&cpAlias=dUkLNDKzCm2261&mobileSupport=true

Good morning everyone!

Over the next few days, you may receive an email from our clinic with a form asking you to confirm or update your contact information.

The email will come from:
Petawawa Centennial Family Health Centre
no-reply@cognisantmd.com

This email is legitimate, safe to open, and cannot accept replies.

Please take a moment to review the form and submit it. Even if nothing has changed, sending it back helps us keep your information accurate and confirm your status within the clinic.

If your family shares one email address, you will receive one email per person. Please fill out each form separately and complete it for the person named in that email so the information goes to the correct medical chart.

If you don’t see the email in your inbox, check your junk or spam folder. If it’s there, please mark the address as safe so future emails don’t get filtered out.

Thank you for your cooperation.

We want to remind parents and guardians that our parking lot cannot be used for student pick‑ups. In recent weeks, there has been an increase in vehicles using the lot during school dismissal, and we have had several close calls involving pedestrians and other vehicles.

This level of traffic creates a significant safety risk for our patients, staff, and the students who walk home. The parking lot is reserved for individuals attending appointments, and it cannot accommodate school pick‑up congestion.

To maintain a safe environment:
- Please use the area by the dog park for student pick‑ups.
- We will be monitoring the parking lot during peak times.
- Drivers who are not here for an appointment will be asked to move.

This is not something we want to spend time on, but it has become necessary to ensure the safety of everyone on site.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to maintain a safe and accessible space for all.
