Do you like Bingo? And volunteering with a local non-profit to help them raise funds to support the mental health and justice needs for more children, youth and families in our community? If so, volunteering for PYS at Delta Bingo may be the right fit for you!

Delta Bingo helps bring funds into community organizations, but only if we have the volunteers on site to support the events. Please contact info@pysonline.ca if you would like more information on this volunteer opportunity!

Big thank you’s to Darling insurance (represented by Julie Poff and Peter Blodgett) and Sentinel Risk Insurance (represented by David Kennedy and Greg Kruk).

Each organization donated $10,000 each for a total of an amazing $20,000 after a very successful and generous golf tournament fundraiser.

Each year Peterborough Youth Services sees an increase in costs without annualized funding matching these increases. Generous donations like these from and .risk help us to continue to provide timely, equitable access to children, youth and families in our community who need mental health support.

Thank you again to all of those who participated in the fundraiser, those who organized the fundraiser, and to these exceptional organizations for seeing the value in the work we do and suggesting the funds come to PYS. Children, youth and families in our community thank you along with me!

Newcomers Parent Group is LAUNCHED!

The group is called “Parenting with Confidence” and this new initiative is a proud partnership between PYS and

Parenting with Confidence is a Parenting Group for New Canadian mothers (of children between the ages of 5-12 yrs) that provides a chance to “Learn, Practice and Connect”.

The group is free of charge, meets for 6 weeks and is held at the New Canadians Centre. Interpretation services are included.

Peterborough Youth Services was honoured to walk in solidarity at the Peterborough PRIDE Parade under this year’s powerful theme: “All of Us, or None of Us.” ✊🏽💜
Rooted in resistance, collective care, and justice, this theme reminds us that true liberation must include everyone — especially those most often pushed to the margins. As an agency grounded in mental health and youth justice, we know how deeply interconnected these struggles are. When one part of our community is not included, we all feel the impact.
That’s why PYS showed up — not just to walk in the parade, but to make space. With the leadership of our incredible Youth Advisory Group, and in partnership with our friends at CCRC, we hosted a reduced sensory booth: a calm, safe retreat for anyone needing a break from the energy of the day. Because inclusion doesn’t stop at the parade route — it lives in the quiet, affirming moments where people feel seen, supported, and safe to be themselves.
In a time when anti-2SLGBTQIA+ rhetoric and policies are rising, our commitment is clear: PYS stands with q***r and trans youth. We will not be silent. We will not look away. We will continue to build spaces — in our programs, our community, and our systems — where every young person is met with dignity, care, and belonging.

Pride is powerful—but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. In Partnership with Peterborough Youth Services Our Sensory-Reduced Zone offers a calm, inclusive space for those who need it. Because accessibility isn’t optional—it’s essential.

The Research for Social Change lab is offering some shareback sessions to say thank you to parents who participated in their research and to share what they have learned about parenting in Peterborough through their study. Whether you participated in their research or not, all are welcome to attend.

Peterborough Youth Services would like to offer a big thank you to and their staff for internally raising $500 for our organization. These donations support programming for children, youth and families in our community so everyone has access to low barrier, no cost, mental health services.

PYS was proud to be present as one of the community’s many participating agencies in the Health Fair for Newcomers to Canada last week. It is important that ALL people in our community know about the services available, and that they feel welcome to engage with organizations as needed.

PYS’s strategic roadmap lists inclusion and equity as an agency value, and identifies strengthening inclusion as the first strategic objective. We strive to see a community where equity, inclusion, diversity, belonging and access are not just a good idea, but a practiced expectation.

We are grateful for the donations that flow from charitable gaming into the PYS organization to continue to support programming for children, youth, and families in Peterborough.

While we appreciate the support, we also encourage all people who participate to know their limit and play responsibly within it.
