Earlier this week, Dr. Kelly had the privilege of delivering a training to the Emergency Response Team (ERT) on Building Resiliency for Occupational Stress. Together with Victim Services Coordinator Alice Czitrom, the team were taught how to be proactive in safeguarding their mental health, identify signs and symptoms of trauma within themselves and eachother, and learned tools for building resilience and coping after a difficult call. This group was so much fun to be around and their commitment to one another professionally and personally exceeds the definition of team. ERT attends the most difficult and intense first responder calls in our community to keep us all safe. So HK&A is thrilled to be involved in ERTs journey, training, and keeping the team psychologically safe. We can’t wait to continue building off of the material we learned yesterday!

We are excited to introduce you to HK&A's newest associate, Mr. Graeme Oddie, Registered Social Worker!

Graeme brings to the practice a wealth of experience working with veterans, active-duty military personnel, police officers, and first responders.

Graeme specializes in treating Operational Stress Injuries (OSIs) such as PTSD, moral injury, depression, and anxiety. He also has experience supporting trauma-impacted couples and those dealing with substance use disorders.

Graeme is trained in a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches for mental health, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Unified Protocol for Transdiagnostic Treatment of Emotional Disorders (UP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He also specializes in trauma processing using techniques such as Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Adaptive Disclosure (AD), Trauma-Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (TFACT), and Written Exposure Therapy (WET).

When he's away from the office, Graeme enjoys playing sports and canoe camping, and is passionate about cooking, travelling, and spending quality time with his family.
