Donna's House of Peterborough Donna's House of Peterborough is a registered charity to help young moms and their babies.

Our vision is to provide inclusive support to pregnant youth and parenting women in our community. We plan to provide an opportunity to develop essential parenting and life skills that will aid in fostering healthy pregnancies, family independence, growth and resiliency for women and their infants pre and post natal. We will strive to help minimize and overcome, the significant barriers young wome

n face when raising children; such as stigma, social exclusion, mental health and addictions. Our Mission is to provide young women the opportunity to develop essential life skills, coping and parenting strategies, while defining healthy lifestyle choices. This will in turn minimize the overwhelming pressures that young women face when raising children at a young age. Potentially this can play a significant role in decreasing the potential of young children being removed from their mother’s care and placed in the care of the Children’s Aid. We believe that by empowering young mother’s to achieve their educational goals, sustain gainful employment, and living independently, there is an increased likelihood that with early supportive intervention, they will achieve family independence long term. Our process it in the initial stages but we are hoping that as we move forward each requirement will be met.

Donnas house is looking for one or two more volunteers to help out at one of the ride stops for tomorrow’s Ride for young mother’s fundraiser. If you are free tomorrow from 9:00 -1:00 we would welcome your help . You would recieve lunch on us at the Two Fat Greeks chip truck .
