The board chair is acting dishonestly and corruptly. He has no authority to make unilateral decisions that disregard established library policy. His personal biases and distorted sense of right and wrong do not give him the right to dictate what others can read, learn, or value. A library’s collection reflects the diverse needs of the community, not the whims of one individual. His actions are unacceptable, and he should be removed from his position and formally investigated.

I wish that weren’t true. I wish it had become less true. But I feel the weight of it deeply.
Hearing men and younger men speak with such vile contempt for women — saying she deserved it, she was asking for it — is sickening. The language they use is not just crude; it’s violent. It’s dehumanizing.
It’s heartbreaking to witness. Their parents have failed them. Society has failed them. And that failure must be named and held accountable.
These men speak like they hate women. And I wonder — do the women in their lives know how deeply that hatred runs? I WILL ALWAYS CHOOSE THE BEAR!
