I have been practicing physiotherapy since 1999 when I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. I began my career working at several sports medicine clinics in Vancouver, Victoria and London. I have been practicing in Peterborough since 2003. I started Optimal Health Physiotherapy in 2015. I am a Fellow of th

e Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists and have a certification in Acupuncture and Dry Needling from APTEI. When I am not working as a physiotherapist, I spend some time coaching the local youth triathlon team, the Peterborough Pirates and instructing in the local youth mountain bike program, Sprockids. I have competed with the Canadian National Rowing Team and the Canadian National Age Group Triathlon Team. In my spare time I can be found playing outside with my husband and two young children; skiing, swimming, cycling and running. I look forward to meeting you and helping you along your journey to optimal health!

Love your garden, but don’t forget to love your body too! 💚 Whether you’re a weekend warrior or recovering from an injury, here are some smart tips to prevent aches and strains while digging in the dirt:

🧍‍♂️ Change it up – Avoid repetitive strain by switching body positions often. Don’t get stuck in one posture too long!
🛠️ Alternate tasks – Rake, then prune. W**d, then water. Mixing it up gives different muscles a break.
⏳ Pace yourself – Gardening is a marathon, not a sprint.
⏱️ Recovering from an injury? Start slow – limit yourself to just 30 minutes on day one, and build up gradually.
🧘‍♀️ Stretch it out – A few minutes of light stretching before and after can go a long way in preventing soreness.
