For many families, Christmas brings both joy and remembrance.

This week, we invite you to choose a favourite photo of your loved one and place it somewhere meaningful in your home — perhaps near the Christmas tree, on a mantle, or beside a candle. Take a moment to share a story about when the photo was taken or what you loved most about that memory.
Honouring their life doesn’t take away from the season — it weaves their love into it.

Each ornament features a beautiful cardinal design and can be personalized with your loved one’s name and life dates for $35.00 (tax included).

❤️ All proceeds will be donated to Good Neighbours Care Centre, supporting families in need during the holidays.

We are looking forward to seeing St. Nick this Saturday! How about you?

Make room for reindeer! The Kinsmen Club of Peterborough's Santa Claus Parade 🎅 will travel down George Street this Saturday, December 6 starting at 5:15 p.m. To ensure floats can enter the parade route safely, road closures and parking restrictions will be in place, with no on-street parking in the parade area starting at 1:30 p.m. and road closures starting at 4:15 p.m. Peterborough Transit will have detours on some routes starting at 3:30 p.m.
➡️Parking is available in municipal surface lots and parking garages
➡️Follow all detour routes and no parking signage posted along George Street from Parkhill Road to Princess Street, and along side streets including Antrim, Edinburgh, Dublin, London and McDonnel, where floats will be staged. A section of Aylmer Street between Romaine and Lansdowne streets will also be temporarily closed.
➡️Plan ahead and give yourself extra time to travel

This morning, Funeral Home Manager Duane Mercer was out in the city at the Peterborough & Kawartha Chamber Breakfast, listening as the City of Peterborough Mayor Jeff Leal and Police Chief Betts shared important updates.

Some of the key topics highlighted included:
• Safety of buildings and ongoing community concerns
• Housing and social challenges
• Taxes and planning for the future
• Growth opportunities at our airport, hospital, college, and university

We’re grateful for the leaders who continue to guide and support our community, and we remain committed to staying informed and engaged.

Experience an evening of music, readings, reflection, and a candle lighting ceremony, followed by complimentary refreshments.

The Legion is once again proud to present “Poppy Stories”, an initiative that allows Canadians to scan a lapel Poppy with their smartphone. With every scan, you’ll be introduced to a fallen soldier with a story to remember. The stories expand on where and how soldiers grew up in Canada, their family history, pre‑war careers, and even some of their passions.

Today has been an eventful day! If you noticed our lights on early, it’s because we were hosting a staff meeting — and some of our team even came dressed up for Halloween! 🎃

We also had the joy of celebrating three birthdays this month. Happy Birthday to Paul, David, and Heather! 🎉🎂

And to top it all off, our manager was especially excited on virtual meetings today… because today is the day the Blue Jays bring home the World Series win! ⚾💙

What a fun and memorable morning!
