We celebrated Valentine’s Day in style with Darlene and The Shamrocker, and our residents truly understood the dress code — red, pink, and more red! The room was filled with music, laughter, dancing, and so much heart.

We were very grateful to host a fraud prevention seminar at Applewood Retirement Residence this week. A big thank you to Officers Brian Black and Michael Tisdale for taking the time to share their knowledge and practical tips on how to recognize and prevent fraud.

These conversations are so important, and our residents truly appreciated the opportunity to ask questions and learn how to stay informed and safe. Thank you again for your dedication to keeping our community educated and protected.

Winter arrives with a sparkle so bright,
Frosting the trees like a baker’s delight.
We grumble, of course—it's the Canadian way—
“Too cold!” “Too snowy!” “Too dark in the day!”

But truth be told, we wouldn’t trade our scene,
Not even for sunshine that’s warm and routine.
For winter is ours, and we wear it with pride—
Boots, mittens, shovels, and humour beside.

And here in our home, cozy, safe, and warm,
We watch snowflakes whirl without braving the storm.
We’re cared for, supported, and never alone—
Lucky beyond measure in this place we call home.

A huge thank-you to our amazing staff and residents — today’s flu shot clinic was a hit! Everyone rolled up their sleeves, got protected for winter, and then enjoyed some well-earned cookies and treats afterward. Staying healthy together is what Applewood is all about! 💉❄️🍪💙

Our halls are filled with cheers, smiles, and a whole lot of Blue Jays pride! 🧢⚾ From jerseys to flags, our residents and team came together to celebrate what it means to be part of this great country — community, spirit, and a shared love for Canada’s team.

On Tuesday, we had the Knightshift band here to perform for us in the garden! The residents had such a wonderful time, enjoying the music and the nice weather before the rain hit!

We had a wonderful time at the Peterborough Airport yesterday afternoon! We enjoyed a lovely lunch at the restaurant and watched planes land and take off! We saw some students practicing and met a pilot or two! Such a wonderful day!

What a great day! Yesterday we had the Senior Car Cruise show here at Applewood. We had over 30 old cars! Everyone had such a wonderful time! Thank you to Senior Car Cruises for bringing the cars in!
