Who saw this coming? We didn't.

Today is World Sight Day—a chance to reflect on the importance of eye health and the experiences of people who are blind, have low vision, or are Deafblind.
When communities provide the right tools, support, and opportunities, people with vision loss can thrive in every aspect of life. Early detection through regular eye exams, especially for children, can make a lifelong difference.
World Sight Day reminds us why accessible, affordable eye care and inclusive communities matter—and why we all play a role in making them possible.
It’s also a moment to recognize how far we’ve come in strengthening Canada’s approach to vision health, including the recent passage of Bill C-284, which establishes a national strategy focused on prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation through Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada and our partners.
