Hormonal changes during perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause can affect many areas of health โ from sleep and mood to bone density, muscle strength, and pelvic floor function.
As estrogen levels fluctuate and decline, some people may experience menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, mood changes, or pelvic floor issues like prolapse, dryness, or urinary urgency. While these are common, they donโt have to be accepted as โnormal.โ
Pelvic health physiotherapy for menopause can help you learn to train or retrain your pelvic floor, address underlying issues, and support comfort and function through every stage.
At Lifemark, pelvic health physiotherapists collaborate with other therapists to provide menopause support focused on strength, mobility, and well-being through this transition and beyond.
According to the Menopause Foundation of Canada, the average woman will spend up to half of her life in a menopausal state. This includes perimenopause, menopause, and post menopause, with some individuals experiencing perimenopausal symptoms as early as in their 30s. While menopause is a natural st...

Adaptive Health Care Solutions was established in 2013 as a collaboration between Dr. Fergal OโHagan, PhD, Dr. Jordan Crane, MD, Katherine McInnis, MSW, RSW, and Keith Nelson, RKin. The vision for the partnership and the practice grew from a number of mutual interests. The partners saw an opportunity to provide an integrated health service that would allow patients to access stand-alone services and coordinated services in one setting. Importantly, therapists working in the practice would have a shared purpose and understanding of each otherโs capabilities and scope, which would inspire and foster collaboration. The focus was really on providing the patient with a superior, integrated service for their health needs. It was with this vision that the clinic was established.
The clinic was originally located in the Old Teacherโs College building on OโCarroll Avenue. Initially, the practice provided rehabilitation and complimentary health services. Physiotherapy was added when John Cook, PT joined the partnership in 2013. In November of 2014 the operation moved to the Medical Arts Building at the intersection of Charlotte St. and Bethune St. Here, rehabilitation therapies and family practice were combined in a shared space, with the intent to establish a more central base to improve accessibility for patients and visibility for the services. From there, services expanded to include massage therapy and foot care. A second physiotherapist with training in pelvic health joined the practice. Naturopathy and counselling services were added.
Adaptive Health Care Solutions has been successful in establishing new services and an incredible family of therapists and associates. The goal is to deliver answers to the health challenges faced by patients in a way that is both effective and meaningful.
Currently, our services and therapists include:
Physiotherapy: John Cook, Sovrina Vats (Pelvic Health Physiotherapy)
Kinesiology: Keith Nelson, Justin Gingrich
Massage Therapy: Bree Blaney, Hollie Gordon and Paul Moss
