The Trans Peer Outreach program offers supports and services for transgender and gender diverse people, to assist them to improve the quality of their lives through the provision of community-based, client centered care that supports positive interdependence. Services are delivered by people with lived experience as a transgender or gender-diverse person, and who also may have experience living wi

th a mental health concern. Trans Peer Outreach services are founded upon the principle that peers can better understand, relate to and support individuals with similar experiences, related to the health and wellbeing of people within this population, and are in a unique position to offer assistance. One to one Peer Support services can provide assistance in the following areas; reducing Isolation and/or self-isolating behaviour, developing wellness tools/strategies, assistance with accessing supportive communities, exploring gender identity, development of resources for navigating and accessing Health Care, and information and strategies to assist with transitioning. We seek and welcome collaboration with others who share our goal of creating, providing and improving services for trans, non-binary and gender diverse people throughout our communities.

Starting a new program and socialization can be hard! This is the perfect group to get involved with your community and hangout with likeminded individuals with no social pressure!

Join us on Wednesday July 16th for an evening of Frisbee fun from 5-7pm! We will be meeting at the entrance of the Frisbee park at 1420 Water st. The location is accessible by bus and there is a small parking lot for folks. If you require transportation assistance please email our team to let us know as soon as possible.

If required, we will be having a board game night at the HOPE learning Center if there is rain.

Join us Wednesday July 2nd for our monthly TransTalk group. TransTalk is our monthly group where trans/non-binary/gender diverse and questioning peers get together and discuss living as someone who is gender diverse.

The topic this week is all about Gender Affirmation and Expression in the summer! We will be discussing how to navigate gender expression in the heat, and also taking time to explore what gender expression looks like in many diverse and unique ways!

Due to office closures for CMHA HKPR today and ongoing weather concerns we have cancelled our zoo trip and hope to reschedule soon.

We will be having a Board Game Night 5-7pm at the HOPE Learning Center tonight. Come hangout and eat some treats provided by Kits Coffee!

🚨ZOO TRIP🚨

Join us on Wednesday June 18th for a walk around Riverview park and Zoo from 5pm to 7pm! Following a stroll through the park and saying hello to all animal friends, we will have a picnic! Snacks will be provided, but we encourage you to bring your own water bottle and other snacks you enjoy.

We are planning to meet at the opening gates at 5pm🦬🐍🐪

There are many ways to access the zoo by public transit, however, if you are concerned we will be meeting at the George st office at 430 to take anyone who needs it! Please RSVP by Friday June 13th to let us know if you require this assistance so we can plan accordingly. You can email the emails below to RSVP.

Our Story

Gender Journeys provides information, opportunities and support services for people who identify as transgender or gender creative. We provide support programs for families, friends and partners of transgender and gender creative people as well as resources, workshops and educational opportunities to service organizations, professionals, allies and communities that make up Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge. We seek and welcome collaboration with others who share our goal of creating, providing and improving services for transgender and gender creative people throughout our communities.
