The supreme court of Canada has ordered alternatives accessible, and we meet the need through teaching safe practices for rendering a patients prescription into alternatives to smoking. Cannabis butter for example, or glycerine tinctures, are both effective forms of administration with easy processes that can be taught. The Red Door will service medical patients who require access to medicinal can
nabis and the alternative forms and preparations, not available to them through any other means. The aims of The Red Door will be:
• To bring together medical patients and foster understanding about medicinal cannabis in a safe and healthy environment.
• To provide a social environment that is inclusive for medical cannabis patients, so they may participate in the activities of life without the stigma attached to cannabis use, and that allows patients a safe place where they may take their medicine, without discrimination of their disabilities or their required medicine.
• To promote and educate about safe medical cannabis practices, uses and preparations, while offering support for dignified access among our members.
• To establish equal access to medical treatment with cannabis medicines for medical cannabis patients.
• To use experienced based learning and community support as a tool for the reduction of harm and addictions in the community.
• To remove the barriers to access by offering accessible and sustainable solutions to medical cannabis patients. Membership is open to anyone who:
• Who uses cannabis as medicine and; holds a valid MMAR/MMPR exemption (pinks), who has a physicians letter or statement of diagnosis, or those who sign a statement of medical need and provide a written request for assistance outlining their diagnosed illness and barriers to access.
