Today marks an important milestone for healthcare fundraising in our community.

As of April 1, the amalgamation between CEEH Foundation and Bluewater Health Foundation is now in effect.

Bluewater Health Foundation will now serve as the sole fundraising foundation supporting healthcare services at CEEH of Bluewater Health in Petrolia and Bluewater Health in Sarnia.

We want to sincerely thank our donors, volunteers, and community members who have supported CEEH Foundation over the years. Your generosity has played a vital role in strengthening healthcare close to home.

Our commitment to rural healthcare in Petrolia and Central Lambton remains strong, including continued support for the Emergency Department and Diagnostic Imaging redevelopment project.

The Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital Emergency Department roof is scheduled for replacement. Starting Monday, February 23, 2026, contractors will begin mobilizing onsite, with roof replacement work to follow as weather permits. The project is expected to take approximately one month.

During this time, intermittent noise may be noticeable in the surrounding areas as work progresses. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we move forward with these much‑needed building improvements.

At a ceremony in Petrolia earlier this week, CEEH Foundation Chair Mark Braet accepted two important grants. One grant was awarded through the Petrolia Community Fund and the other through the Bonnie & Doug Clark Fund.

These contributions directly strengthen local healthcare and help us continue supporting high‑quality patient care at Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital.

Proud to be collaborating with Bluewater Health Foundation on this exciting next step for the CEEH Capital Redevelopment Project! See more details below.

Bluewater Health has received Ministry of Health approval to proceed to tender for the Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital (CEEH) Capital Redevelopment Project, advancing the project into the procurement phase.

The redevelopment includes renovations to the Emergency Department and Diagnostic Imaging, along with associated clinical and support areas. The project is designed to modernize hospital infrastructure while ensuring patient care and hospital operations continue throughout construction.

“This approval represents an important step forward for the CEEH and the community it serves,” said Paula Reaume-Zimmer, President and CEO of Bluewater Health. “Reaching the tender stage reflects years of planning, collaboration, and advocacy, and moves us closer to delivering modernized spaces that support safe, high-quality care now and into the future.”

The project is supported through a partnership between the province, Bluewater Health, and the community, with Bluewater Health Foundation and Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital Foundation working collaboratively to support fundraising for equipment, furnishings, and other project needs.
