I was standing in line before a yoga class this week.
Quiet, calm, supposedly mindful.

There was a big sign right at the front: “Please leave phones out of the studio.”

And yet…in line, every single head was down, eyes wide open, screens glowing, thumbs scrolling. Not one smile, not one moment of eye contact, not one chance for a simple “hi.”

And I couldn’t stop thinking: What is happening to us?

We go to yoga to feel grounded, connected, human.
But we’re so visually glued to screens that we miss the people standing inches away.

No wonder making friends feels harder.
No wonder we feel disconnected even in full rooms.

Eye contact isn’t awkward, it’s how safety, trust, and connection begin.

This week, I’m setting a small goal for myself:
✨ Make one new acquaintance.
A smile. A hello. A moment of presence.

I encourage this with my kids every day.
Because connection is a skill, AND skills need practice.

Will you try it too?

Your brain moves before you know you’ve decided.

That split-second before a step, a turn, or a reach?
That’s not clumsiness, that’s spatial awareness.

Your brain is constantly scanning:
• Where am I?
• Where is everything else?
• Am I safe to move?

This happens before conscious thought. When spatial awareness weakens, the body doesn’t fail, it pauses.

That hesitation.
That “off” feeling in busy spaces.
That loss of confidence in movement.

👉 Not anxiety.
👉 Not weakness.
👉 Information.

Spatial awareness is trainable and awareness is always the first step.

📩 I break down how we rebuild this system, for adults and kids, in my free newsletter (Link in bio☝️).

Save this if it shifted how you see your body.
Share it with someone who feels “off” in crowds.

Men — this one’s for you. 👀

If you’re over 35 and suddenly dealing with
❌ dry eyes
❌ blurry vision
❌ eye strain after screens
❌ feeling visually “off” or fatigued

…it’s not random, and it’s not just aging.

It may be andropause, the gradual testosterone shift that affects more than energy or muscle.

🧠 Testosterone plays a role in
• visual focus
• tear production
• eye–brain stamina
• screen tolerance

Most men are told to “push through it.”
But prevention starts with understanding what your body is actually saying.

👇 Comment “ANDRO” and I’ll share the signs men report first.

Your pain went quiet, but your body didn’t heal.
Steroids calm inflammation fast, but relief isn’t repair.

Inflammation isn’t always damage, it’s often a healing signal. Shut it down too early, and the repair process never finishes.
So pain returns.
Treatments repeat.
And we call it “aging.”

🎙️ On this Uncover Your Eyes Podcast episode, I talk with Dr. Chris Renna of about why medicine is shifting from symptom suppression to regenerative healing.

💬 Comment “3” if you want the 3 conditions where alternatives to repeated steroids are often explored.

If you’ve ever felt better temporarily, only to end up back in pain again, this episode will change how you interpret your body’s signals.

Your child can swipe flawlessly, but miss what’s happening around them.

That’s not bad behaviour, it’s brain adaptation.

Spatial empathy is how children sense people, movement, emotion, and space. It’s what helps them read a room, navigate crowds, and feel safe in their body.

Screens train narrow focus and real life requires wide awareness.

When that system weakens, parents often notice:
• Social cues being missed
• Overwhelm in busy places
• Clumsiness or hesitation with movement
• Shutdowns that look like anxiety

Kids may learn to read words early…but struggle to read rooms.

Here’s the part most parents aren’t told:
👉 Spatial empathy is trainable.

And when it’s supported, confidence, regulation, and connection improve too.

👇 Comment “EMPATH” and I’ll share a simple at-home way parents can start rebuilding spatial empathy today.

A meaningful moment for me AND an important step for health education. 👀✨

Men's Health Magazine () featured a disorder I coined: Spatial Awareness Processing Disorder (SAPD) and why staring at screens all day may be quietly shrinking how we experience the world.

Yes… your phone is literally shrinking your world. 📱📉

When we trade the Great Outdoors for the Great Indoors (and endless 2D screens), our brains stop getting the depth, distance, and movement they evolved for.
The result? We lose our 3D “muscle memory.”

💡 SAPD isn’t a disease, it’s a consequence of a screen-focused lifestyle.

And the good news? It’s fixable.

Here’s how to start retraining your spatial brain:
• 20-20-20 rule → every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds
• Get outdoors → move in real 3D space to activate peripheral vision
• Look out windows → give your eyes long-distance focus again
• Ditch GPS (sometimes) → rebuild your internal map
• Protect sleep → phone away at least 2 hours before bed

It’s time to look up.
It’s time to move.
It’s time to reclaim spatial intelligence.

Someone avoids eye contact with you… 👀
what do you instantly assume?

That they’re insecure.
That they’re not listening.
That they don’t care.
That you aren’t enough.

Here’s the truth 👇
Eye contact isn’t just vision. It’s culture, power, and learned bias.

We were taught that strong eye contact = confidence and authority. But that belief misreads people and decides who gets heard, trusted, or dismissed.

🎙️ On this episode of the Uncover Your Eyes Podcast, I unpack what eye contact actually signals and how it shapes perception in healthcare, leadership, and everyday interactions.

👇 Comment “EYES” and I’ll send you 3 ways eye contact is misread in relationships & work (and what to do instead).

If you’ve ever felt underestimated or invisible, this episode will change how you see it.

If your stress bucket is overflowing 🪣… this isn’t burnout, it’s biology.

Anxiety, gut issues, inflammation, and feeling stuck in survival mode aren’t “just life.”
They’re signs your nervous system has exceeded its capacity.

Here’s what most people don’t realize 👇
Your vagus nerve sets how much stress your body can handle.

When vagus nerve function is low:
• stress tolerance shrinks
• inflammation rises
• anxiety loops
• the body stays stuck in threat mode

🎙️ On the Uncover Your Eyes Podcast, I sit down with , The Vagus Nerve Doc, to explain why vagus nerve health is foundational to mental health, physical health, gut health, and long-term healing, and why healthcare keeps missing it.

🎯 In this episode, you’ll learn:
• Why the vagus nerve controls stress resilience, immunity & metabolism
• How chronic nervous system dysregulation develops
• Why anxiety, inflammation & autoimmune symptoms are connected
• How to measure vagus nerve health using HRV
• Which wearables actually matter
• Simple, science-backed ways to stimulate the vagus nerve
• Dr. Habib’s vagus nerve protocol
• The most overlooked habit that restores nervous system balance

👇 Comment “VAGUS” and I’ll share Dr. Habib’s #1 lifestyle hack to stimulate the vagus nerve.

If you’ve ever been told “everything looks normal” but your body says otherwise, this conversation will change how you understand your health.

🌐 If crowds drain you, balance feels off, or you rely on GPS everywhere, this isn’t “just stress.” 👀

It could be your spatial nervous system.

This system quietly controls how safe you feel in space, how you move through the world, and how your brain maps places.
Most people don’t notice it weakening… until daily life starts feeling harder.

That’s why I created the 10-second Spatial Awareness Processing Disorder (SAPD) Self-Test in this carousel.

As you swipe, ask yourself:
• Bumping into things more than before?
• Busy environments feel overwhelming?
• Familiar places feel disorienting without GPS?

2 or more YES answers = your spatial system may be under strain.

The good news? This can be rebuilt — once you know it’s happening.

👇 Comment “TEST” if this surprised you.

If your body feels stuck in fight mode, this isn’t a mindset problem, it’s a nervous system signal.

Chronic inflammation, burnout, anxiety, and slow healing aren’t about willpower. They happen when your nervous system never gets the message that it’s safe to repair.

Here’s what most people don’t realize 👇
When you’re stuck in sympathetic fight mode, your immune system stays inflammatory.
And healing? It can’t fully happen.

The switch that allows your body to move from fight → fix is the vagus nerve.

🎙️ On the Uncover Your Eyes Podcast, I sit down with , The Vagus Nerve Doc, to explain why vagus nerve health is the foundation of mental health, physical health, immune balance, and long-term wellness, and why healthcare keeps overlooking it.

🎯 In this episode, you’ll learn:
• Why the vagus nerve controls healing & resilience
• How nervous system dysregulation develops in modern life
• Why anxiety, inflammation & chronic illness are connected
• How to measure vagus nerve health using HRV
• The best wearables for tracking vagal tone
• Practical, science-backed ways to stimulate the vagus nerve
• Dr. Habib’s vagus nerve protocol
• The most overlooked habit that restores nervous system balance

👇 Comment “VAGUS” to get access to Dr. Habib’s VAGUS Protocol Score quiz and see how dysregulated your vagus nerve may be — and where to start.

No one talks enough about how early the weight struggle actually begins.

Long before diets.
Long before numbers.
Long before we even understand our bodies.

So many women grow up learning to fight their bodies instead of listening to them. We eat less, restrict more, and push harder.

But the body keeps score. After years of restriction, stress, and dieting, your body shifts into protection mode, not rebellion.

And it starts sending signals like:
➡️ Fatigue that never lifts 😴
➡️ Weight gain despite eating less ⚖️
➡️ Hormonal imbalance 🔄
➡️ Brain fog & frustration 🌫️
➡️ A constant feeling of “losing control”

These aren’t signs of failure, they’re signs of survival. 🤍
Your body isn’t broken, it’s responding to what it’s been through.

That’s why the conversation is changing — from weight loss to weight health. ✨

🎙️ On Uncover Your Eyes, Ep 89, I sat down with to unpack why dieting backfires, how metabolic health actually works, and what women need to understand about nourishment, hormones, and long-term health. Available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts & YouTube

I had the opportunity to speak with about the common causes of bloodshot eyes, from screen time and eye strain to dry eyes. While often harmless, redness can sometimes signal more serious issues like infections, inflammation, or glaucoma.

If redness comes with symptoms like headaches, nausea, or vision changes, it’s crucial to see an eye doctor ASAP.
