Aset Group Consulting and Counselling provides individual counselling to children, youth, adults and families. Are you struggling with depression and/or anxiety? Is your child having a difficult time managing a divorce? Were you the victim of sexual abuse or child trauma? These are some of the difficulties individuals face in their lives, and we treat in practice every day. We inspire individuals to make changes in their lives, by using evidence based treatment modalities and a client centered approach. You set goals you hope to accomplish for yourselves in your life, and we work together to achieve these goals. At the same time, a counsellor is someone you can develop a trusting relationship with and share your life experiences with no judgement, just support and advocacy.

We definitely live in a country where access to mental health support is a privilege and inequitable. Also funding for mental health counselling agencies is also inequitable (... yup, said that).

Here are some truths:

✔ Organizations that provide counseling/psychotherapy/certified play and expressive arts therapy/ trauma counselling, etc etc should be accessible, affordable, and valuable.

✔ Mental health workers should be accessible in all systems, from schools, healthcare facilities, employees and more.

✔ Culturally-relevant, trauma- focused and holistic mental health services should become available for Black, Indigenous and People of Color.

✔As parents, create spaces to listen and validate your child's experiences. And, ensure that you are also engaging in your own mental wellness.

✔As children and youth, you are not alone. You have a village of people around you able and willing to help you access the support you need.

✔For adults, there is no space where you are not needed, valued, honored, loved... and as you seek for support, keep an open mind and heart. ❤💞

Don't just medicate, ground yourself with medicines, scents, touch, pleasant sights, sounds, and tastes.
