Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation

Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation We are an independent, registered charity. Together, and with your support, we can make this ambition a reality.

We raise funds to help renovate and maintain our County Hospital and are raising funds for our new hospital in Prince Edward County. Founded in 1985, the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation (PECMHF) has an opportunity to design the future of healthcare in our community. The Foundation raises money to help achieve this vision through building infrastructure and maintenance, for the purchase of high-priority equipment needed for patient care, and for medical innovations that will transform how our hospital delivers care and improves the lives of all County residents and visitors.

🩺💙 Care Champion Spotlight – PECMH Nurses & Staff have been recognized as Care Champions for their kindness, compassion, and outstanding care.

💬 From a grateful parent:
“Each time I’ve needed care, I’ve been met with kindness, understanding, compassion, and respect. I recently visited twice with my young daughter, and everyone was so gentle and reassuring with her. The staff made the experience as smooth as possible for both of us. I never felt judged for my concerns—only cared for. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”

This recognition speaks to the strength of the entire team, whose professionalism and empathy shine through in every interaction. 🌟

Willowlee Sod Farms Ltd., and Kurt and Heather Vanclief understand that wellness starts long before we ever step into a hospital. Every day, they cultivate the green spaces where families gather, memories are made, and communities grow strong.

“We’re not just laying landscape; we’re helping lay the foundation for cherished experiences,” Heather says — a belief that inspired Willowlee to support the new Mental Health Examination Room at PECMH. Their gift will help create a calm, compassionate space for those facing some of life’s hardest moments.

This season, as we share their story, we’re asking you to join them.

🌱 Help us plant the seeds of support this Holiday Season.
💙 Every gift — big or small — brings high-quality, local healthcare closer to home.

Wow, Prince Edward County💙

Thanks to the incredible generosity of 111 donors across our community, GivingTuesday raised more than $41,100 in support of bringing a new digital mammography machine to the new PECM Hospital.

Every donation brings us one step closer to providing faster, clearer, life-saving breast screening technology for patients right here at home. Your support means more people in our community will have the chance for early detection — and a healthier future.

To everyone who gave online, by phone, or visited our office: Thank you for showing just how strong The County’s heart truly is.

Together, we’re making a lifesaving difference. 💙

Today is — and your generosity can change someone’s future. 💙

The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation is calling on our community to come together for one powerful purpose: to bring a new digital mammography machine to the new PECMH.

This state-of-the-art technology will provide faster, clearer, and more accurate breast screenings — giving patients in our community the best chance at early detection. For many, it could truly be life-saving.

We’re dedicating this GivingTuesday to Rosemary Crockett, who lost her life to breast cancer before screening was available, and to her daughter Judy Plomer, who honours her memory by getting a mammogram every year. Their story reminds us what early detection can mean — and what it can prevent.

Today, you can make an extraordinary impact.
Your gift will help ensure that families in Prince Edward County have access to the most advanced breast screening available — close to home, when they need it most.

Our Story

We are an independent, registered charity. We raise funds to help renovate and maintain our County Hospital and to purchase medical equipment such as vital signs monitors, vital diagnostic tools, scopes and much more. Your financial contributions have allowed us to invest over $7M in our County Hospital. Unlike operating costs, medical equipment is NOT paid for by the government. Communities must equip their local hospital. Your support means we have reliable equipment. That helps the hospital keep services cost effective and available close to home.
