Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation

Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation We are an independent, registered charity. Together, and with your support, we can make this ambition a reality.

We raise funds to help renovate and maintain our County Hospital and are raising funds for our new hospital in Prince Edward County. Founded in 1985, the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation (PECMHF) has an opportunity to design the future of healthcare in our community. The Foundation raises money to help achieve this vision through building infrastructure and maintenance, for the purchase of high-priority equipment needed for patient care, and for medical innovations that will transform how our hospital delivers care and improves the lives of all County residents and visitors.

Community spirit made a splash in Wellington ❄️💙 The first-ever Pounder Polar Plunge, hosted by Brandon and Hailey Pounder of Pounder’s Pub & Patio, brought together nearly 40 brave participants, local hockey teams, and supporters for a fun-filled day in support of local causes.

Together, the event raised:
💧 $1,000 for the PECMH Foundation’s Back the Build campaign
🚤 $1,000 for the Wellington Auxiliary Rescue Association (WARA)

From icy plunges to a community BBQ (thanks to the County Royals!), this event showed the power of coming together to support healthcare and water safety in Prince Edward County.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the plunge, donated, and cheered from the sidelines—we can’t wait to see this grow into an annual tradition!

We’re so grateful to Quinte Health for highlighting our incredible team and the work underway to build the future of care in Prince Edward County.

We are proud to stand alongside Quinte Health in supporting care close to home, and in helping bring a leading-edge new hospital to life that will serve our community for generations to come.

Stronger Together isn’t just a phrase — it reflects the collaboration, generosity, and shared commitment that continues to move this project forward.

Thank you to our donors, volunteers, and community champions who are helping turn vision into reality. The best is yet to come.

More than a decade ago, it became clear that the existing Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital (PECMH) could no longer meet the needs of today’s patients, care teams, or community.

Our Care Champions are at the heart of everything we do at PECMH — and as we prepare to open the new hospital, we want them supported with the very best tools from day one.

Thanks to our community — and the Kilroy family’s dollar-for-dollar matching campaign — we’re making progress toward funding 24 new SMART patient beds. Designed to enhance patient comfort and safety, these beds also support our frontline teams with features that help prevent patient falls and reduce pressure injuries.

Every matched gift is a powerful way to stand behind the people who care for Prince Edward County. 💙

Donate before March 31 to have your gift matched and help equip our teams with the tools they need in our new hospital. Visit www.pechmhf.ca to give today.

Our Story

We are an independent, registered charity. We raise funds to help renovate and maintain our County Hospital and to purchase medical equipment such as vital signs monitors, vital diagnostic tools, scopes and much more. Your financial contributions have allowed us to invest over $7M in our County Hospital. Unlike operating costs, medical equipment is NOT paid for by the government. Communities must equip their local hospital. Your support means we have reliable equipment. That helps the hospital keep services cost effective and available close to home.
