Hi Mamas!

I’m excited to introduce a 6-week Mom and Baby exercise class designed to support postpartum rehabilitation and recovery. ❤️‍🩹

As a chiropractor with an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, and currently 10 months postpartum myself, I understand how challenging it can be to find time for exercise while caring for a new baby. I created this program to provide a supportive environment where mothers can safely return to movement, rebuild strength, and incorporate their babies into the experience.

This class is designed to support mothers after natural, medicated, or C-section deliveries. The sessions will focus on restoring core engagement, improving mobility, and gradually rebuilding overall strength, with exercises that thoughtfully include your baby.

My goal is to help you feel stronger, more confident, and more at home in your body during your postpartum journey.

Who can join:
This class is recommended for mothers who are at least 6–8 weeks postpartum and have been cleared by their healthcare provider to resume exercise. The ideal group is 6 weeks to 12 months postpartum, though mothers with older babies are welcome—we may just need to get a little creative with the little ones!

Class Details:
• 6-week program: March 27 – May 8 (no class April 3 – Good Friday)
• Location: County Acrobatics & Pure Joy Dance Studio
• Day & Time: Fridays, 1:00–2:00 PM

Cost:
• $50 for the full 6-week program (paid upfront)
or
• $10 drop-in rate per class

Pre-registration is recommended.

Shovelling Tips ❄️

1️⃣Warm up! Do some gentle stretches to get all your joints moving.

2️⃣Use a lightweight, plastic shovel to lighten the load!

3️⃣Push rather then lift the snow!

4️⃣If you’re tired, take a break!

5️⃣Stand with feet equal distance for a solid base of support.

6️⃣Shovel as the snow builds up. It’s much easier to shovel a few inches rather than a foot.

7️⃣Lift with your legs! This helps reduce strain on your back.

8️⃣Have a good grip! Space your hands out about a foot apart to help give yourself more leverage when shovelling.

9️⃣Have some water handy! Even though it’s cold out, we’re still physically exerting ourselves when we shovel, so we need stay hydrated!

1️⃣0️⃣Lastly, have fun! We all used to enjoy snow days as a kid, so why can’t we enjoy them as adults? ☃️

Monday 8am-4pm
Tuesday 1:30pm- 6pm
Wednesday 8am-4pm
Thursday 8am-4pm
Friday 8am-12pm

New year, time to review the movement guidelines!

Did you know that for substantial health benefits, it is recommended that adults(18-65):
▪️Get 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity a week
▪️Include muscle strengthening minimum 2x per week 🏋🏻
▪️Participate in frequent light physical activity (ex. standing, walking)

Many Canadians are sadly not reaching this goal!

Here are some tips for exercising in the winter:
🏃🏼‍♀️Take advantage of indoor spaces for workouts (home, PEFAC, walking track in Wellington l)
🏃🏼‍♀️Wear comfortable, supportive and well-gripped shoes when walking or running outside
🏃🏼‍♀️Remember to drink water! Just because it’s not warm out doesn’t mean you need less water!
🏃🏼‍♀️If you are exercising outdoors, wear layers! As you get warmer, you can take off a layer while still keeping your body at a comfortable temperature.

The Jnr NBA program is a youth participation program that provides a fun environment for kids to learn the fundamentals and values of the game. Here’s the deets:

-For kids aged 5 to 9
-Cost $120 for a 9 week program. Each player receives a ball and reversible jersey.
-Every Sunday 10-11am
