Hi everyone,

If you were a client with a recent booking, you will already be aware of this news, but I wanted to communicate it here as well. Effective immediately, I’ll be taking a medical leave of absence and closing my practice for the foreseeable future.

If you are a past client, I will continue to safely store all client health records in accordance with PHIPA, and will be able to provide summaries or copies to your new RMT, should you choose to find one.

There are several RMTs located in Picton who are currently accepting new clients:

NOTICE OF FEE INCREASE

Dear clients:

Effective August 1, 2022, the fee schedule will be updated to reflect the following rates, including HST:

30 minutes…….75.00
45 minutes…….92.00
60 minutes…….115.00
75 minutes…….132.00

Since my last fee increase in 2020, the cost to renew an RMT license has risen by nearly 15%, and by over 50% cumulatively since I became an RMT. As we’re all finding out, the cost of living (and running a small business) is also continuing to steadily increase. This fee increase helps address this inflation.

As always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

Dear clients:

On March 9, 2022, the province announced that as of March 21, masks will no longer be required, except for on public transit, in health care settings, long-term care homes and congregate care settings.

My regulator, the CMTO, considers all RMT practice settings to be health care settings for the purposes of the masking mandate. Therefore, RMTs and clients must continue masking until April 27, 2022.

I’ll continue to wear an N95 or similar level of protection during your appointment. Clients don’t need to wear an N95 - a surgical mask (the blue one) is enough. Fabric is still a no-no, but you are welcome to wear a fabric mask overtop of your surgical one. I am happy to supply masks if clients forget theirs at home.

Personally (and professionally), I’m going to be wearing a mask long past April 27th. It just makes sense given the close nature of RMT work, and wildly contagious variants 😵‍💫. I’ll evaluate my stance on client masking closer to that date, but please be prepared to continue masking. Remember that you can always request your RMT or other health care worker to wear a mask, mandate or no.

TL;DR ➡️ yes, you still have to wear a mask during your massage.
