Sometimes healing doesn’t feel like joy at first — it feels strange, shaky, even a little sad.

When things finally get better, our hearts need time to catch up.

Growth doesn’t always feel good right away. When life begins to improve, we can still feel unsettled or emotional. This post explores why progress can feel uncomfortable — and how to meet that moment with compassion.

Exciting Summer Updates & Welcoming New Patients!
Growth, Connection, and New Opportunities

What a whirlwind this summer has been! Between new experiences, exciting challenges, a bit of well-earned sunshine and some definite scorchy days, things have certainly kept Meaghan and I busy in our lives and practice. As we move into September we are feeling inspired and energized, and we’re eager to connect with our amazing community in new ways.

We’re thrilled to share that we’ll be posting two blogs a month on our website moving forward. Whether you’re looking for fresh insights on mental health topics we see coming up in our work, learn about practical self-supporting skills, or find guidance on navigating the mental health world, we hope our upcoming posts will offer something valuable for everyone. Stay tuned—you won’t want to miss what we have in store!

And one more piece of news: Meaghan and I are both currently accepting new patients! If you’ve been thinking about booking a free consultation, now is the perfect time. Spaces are limited, so be sure to book your spot on our website before our schedules fill up. We can’t wait to support you on your journey and welcome new faces to our practice.

Here’s to growth, connection, and making the most of every opportunity. Thank you for being part of our story!

My blog this week ‘Every Session’ talks about the framework I use for therapy sessions, focusing on four key areas: crisis management, support, skill building, and insight development. This framework helps me understand and respond to clients' needs effectively, promoting overall well-being.

The interplay between cancel culture and personal boundaries involves a tension between societal accountability and individual values & beliefs. Cancel culture aims to hold individuals accountable for harmful behaviors, allowing marginalized voices to assert boundaries against toxic actions. However, it can also infringe on personal boundaries, leading to public shaming and fear of reprisal for expressing unpopular views.

This dynamic illustrates the challenge of balancing justice and free speech, emphasizing the need for thoughtful discourse and empathy in addressing societal issues. Central to navigating and understanding the world is the ability to establish healthy boundaries effectively which are rooted in your personal values and beliefs.

Today is a reminder for me to take a moment and think about all the women who came before me who fought for all of us. Because of them today women have a voice through voting. We have our autonomy able to own land, attend University, own a business, have a job outside of the home, have my own money and decide what is best for our own bodies. We must not forget it was not so long ago (just over 100years in Canada) that our lives were not our own. I am grateful to be born into this time.

I am so grateful for all the truely spectacular women in my life and a wish you all a wonderful day and year ahead!

True character isn’t built in the spotlight—it’s shaped in the quiet moments when no one is watching.🙌🏼

It’s in the small acts of kindness, the choices we make when there’s no reward, and the integrity we uphold even when it’s inconvenient. Who we are behind closed doors defines the person we bring into the world.

Stay true to your values, even when no one is around to applaud. Your character is your legacy—make it one you’re proud of!☺️💕

Happy Friday everyone! ☀️Just dropping in to share a different routine you can follow for a more productive day.

Starting your day with a structured morning can boost your mood and energy. Setting timers for tasks can keep you focused and efficient. And winding down with a screen-free hour in the evening helps you sleep better.😴

You’ll feel more organized, less stressed, and ready to tackle whatever life throws your way. Who knew a few tweaks could make such a difference? 😉✨
