Did you know? The first Canadian CHC opened its door 100 years ago!

Over the past century, the CHC model has evolved in response to changing community needs. What began as localized efforts to serve underserved populations has grown into a network of organizations delivering interdisciplinary care, advancing health equity, and strengthening communities across the country. Mount Carmel Clinic, Canada’s first CHC, is celebrating 100 years of community-driven care in Winnipeg, a milestone that reflects the impact of CHCs across the country.
