Aches and pains start off as annoying little problems that will bug you a few times throughout the day. But as time progresses, they become more and more apparent and painful, to the point that they might start affecting other parts of the body and or how you are able to move your body.

Not only are smaller aches and pains less of a hindrance to your daily life they are also easier and quicker to treat than multi structured dysfunctions. While treating a smaller dysfunction, it is easier to see what the root of the problem is and correct it all.

Getting after your aches and pains before they become more troublesome lets you be in control of your body and do the things you want.

Book an osteopathic treatment with me at clinic PhysioGo 514-696-2525 to get after your aches and pains.

First thing I’ve got to know is how did you hurt yourself, did you strain a muscle while running or picking something up or did you fall and hurt yourself from the impact. This helps me to know which parts of the body besides the affected spot could also be hurt. Now depending on how much pain you are in will dictate the first session in a big way as if you are in too much pain for mobilizations, then some soft tissue work must be done first around the injured area to let the body lower its guarding response.

Next, we start mobilizing joints, increasing blood flow and lymphatic drainage, helping the body to heal itself. During this part of treatment, the goal is to put the structures that were affected back into their appropriate place, as well as the things that most likely contributed to the injury accruing.

Lastly, exercises and stretches are given as homework to do before the next session. The homework is what will solidify the treatment as well as speed up the recovery time of the injury.

Movement is the best way to prevent and heal injuries.

Our bodies are meant to move around in all kinds of different ways, yet lots of jobs have us being stationary in one position for hours on end. Be that sitting our standing being in the same position for a long time, particularly sitting, is not great.

Sitting for extend periods of causes big stabilizing muscles to become weak and tight, causing back pain and other muscular and joint pains, as well it negatively affect your heart.

To mitigate these consequences just getting up and moving for 5-15 minutes every hour or so is great. You can walk around, stretch but my personal favorite is to get into a nice deep squat and move around at the bottom.

Moving will get those muscles firing and loosen everything up a bit.

If you have back pain or any other muscular/joint pain come see me for osteopathic treatment at Clinic PhysioGo 514-696-2525 and let's get rid of it 😁

Yesterday night and subsequently this morning, I learnt the hard way that I should stop procrastinating in fixing my injuries.

For a few years now I've been treating my injuries only enough to let me do my daily activities with minimal pain and discomfort. Well last night after wrestling, my upper back decided it was going to release everything that's been building these past couple of years. To my surprise I wasn't able to move let alone leave my bed without being in extreme pain.

After managing to put some heat on my back (thank you mom) i got out of bed and started treating myself topically again and instantly contacted my osteo to get treatment.

This was a wake-up call to me and I hope it helps put things into perspective for you. Injuries and pain needs to be heal and get fixed, don't wait till you cant move anymore, because by then it takes a lot longer to fix and is more painful in general.

Call 514-696-2525 to book an appointment with me at clinic PhysiGo and get ahead of those injuries and pains.

Neck pain can be caused by many reasons: sleeping wrong, looking down at your phone all day, etc. The thing is often your neck pain is most probably due to a shoulder dysfunction. Now you might be wondering how your shoulder can be causing your neck pain, well let me explain.

There are a few muscles that connect directly from the shoulder girdle to the neck, the levator scapula and the upper traps are the ones that you most commonly associate to your neck pain. But there are others that get involved the longer your shoulder dysfunction persists. The muscle in the front of your neck start getting involved: the scalene muscles and you SCM. All these muscles get tight because your shoulder is constantly of very often in a non neutral position. It can be shrugged up or be rotated forward. This puts tension on the neck muscles creating pain. Eventually the pain will start being felt in the shoulder itself when the muscles of the shoulder start becoming more affected. These shoulder dysfunctions don’t get noticed right away and are usually the last thing that you notice.
Shoulder instability is a major cause of neck pain, and this is a growing trend with more and more people working at desks and more so at home where their office setup is very minimal. Both neck and shoulder dysfunction can be resolved with osteopathy.

Osteopathy looks for the root cause of your problem and treats both it and the symptoms. If you are struggling with neck or shoulder pain book an appointment with me at Clinic PhysioGo 514-696-2525 and we can get you back to living pain free.

These compensations allow your body to keep functioning. but it doesn’t solve the issue. As time goes on, your body will need to compensate for the compensations it’s been making. Eventually, you will likely experience some form of pain further up the chain of compensations.

Osteopathy looks for the root cause of the pain by working its way backwards, instead of only treating the pain. This approach takes a little longer than most physical therapies since more than one thing needs to be corrected to assure that the pain does not return. . If you are experiencing pain, book an appointment with me and we can get is resolved.
