We are launching day camps for children ages six to 12 at the Ponoka Arena Complex (4410 54 Street).

The day camps will begin on Monday, October 6 and run throughout the duration of the provincial teachers’ strike on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please note that statutory holidays are not included.

The camps will include fun activities such as crafts, games and sports – both outdoor and indoor.

The daily rate for the day camps is $30 per child. Participants can register online on the Town of Ponoka’s website at Ponoka.ca/p/recreation-programming or in-person at the Ponoka Arena Complex during these hours:

✅ Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.
✅ Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.

1. You must have your health care number in order to book your appointment.
2. You can only book with your own primary provider.
3. We are still booking unattached and new patients but you will need to call the clinic at 403-783-3399.

RCMP urgent warning regarding dangerous and potentially deadly illegal op**tes. Please see the post below for details.

The RCMP is issuing an urgent warning about a dangerous and potentially deadly supply of illegal op**tes circulating in our communities. These counterfeit pills closely resemble the prescription medication Xanax but have tested positive for isotonitazene – a highly potent and lethal synthetic opioid.

RCMP Public Information Officer Cpl. Savinkoff stated: “We are investigating the death of a 16-year-old youth with a confirmed link to isotonitazene. Parents, relatives, and community members need to share this information, especially now that school is out.” Our deepest condolences go out to the youth and his loved ones.

The pills containing the op**te are:
🔻 Grey in color
🔻 Rectangular
🔻 Imprinted with letters “ONAX” on one side
🔻 Marked with the number “2” printed vertically on the other side

These drugs are not only illegal, but they are also extremely dangerous and potentially fatal. The RCMP is actively working to intercept the supply and alert the public. We urge you to share this post. Prescriptions should only be purchased from a reputable licensed pharmacist.
