Relief That Goes Deeper
Laser therapy uses focused light to reduce pain, calm inflammation, and speed up healing at the sourceβwithout needles or downtime. Itβs effective for joint pain, muscle injuries, arthritis, and chronic conditions.
Benefits of Massage Therapy
Massage therapy helps reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, relieve stress, and support faster recovery. It can also ease everyday aches, promote relaxation, and enhance overall well-being.
Modern lifestyles put constant strain on the spine and muscles. While painkillers provide temporary relief, they donβt address the root cause of pain.
Experience the benefits of therapeutic massage and feel the difference.
Many patients experience gradual but lasting improvement after regular acupuncture sessions. If chronic pain is limiting your life, itβs time to explore a natural solution.
Pain can slowly change how you move, work, and enjoy life. Physiotherapy helps maintain strength and mobility while reducing the risk of recurring injuries.
Feeling dizzy, unsteady, or off balance?
Vestibular rehabilitation helps treat symptoms like vertigo, dizziness, and balance problems through guided exercises and targeted therapy.
If dizziness is affecting your daily life, help is available.
Shoulder pain can come from overuse, poor posture, or injury.
Targeted physiotherapy focuses on the causeβnot just the symptomsβto improve comfort and mobility.

From humble beginnings to a fully serviced rehabilitation facility
In 1991, the then owner of Ponoka Physiotherapy, Donna LaRocque, hired a physio for her small practice in Ponoka. Having graduated in South Africa, worked (in private practice, large hospitals and rural hospitals) in Durban, S.A,, London, England, and Coronation, AB., Cal David knew that he had found his niche in the world in Ponoka, after being warmly received by its residents and medical community. Meeting and marrying Karen (nee Telidetzki) soon after, and raising 2 kids, who are currently teenagers, he had found his new home.
As a sole practice physiotherapist for many years in Ponoka he has had to become versed in many different physiotherapy modalities and treatment techniques in order to provide quality services to his community. This has led to a lifelong of learning; from being certified to practice acupuncture and order x-rays and other diagnostic imaging to courses in golf injuries and treatment (TPI), work injuries (Matheson), Back Pain (McKenzie, FMS) to name a few and most recently being certified with Complete Concussion Management to offer baseline and post concussion management.
As part of giving back to the profession and to expose this rural clinic to new and modern techniques in the world of physiotherapy this clinic has always offered an offsite preceptor programme to the physiotherapy assistant students at Red Deer College. It had previously also served the physiotherapy students from U of A as well.
Recent renovations and an expansion to the little grey building (built in 1998) and the addition of physiotherapists, an occupational therapist and massage therapists have allowed Ponoka Physiotherapy to expand its services even further, stay open longer and continue to provide services to the residents of Ponoka and area all at a reasonable rate - something that has been in our mission statement from the day we started.
Ponoka Physiotherapy & Acupuncture Clinic - Rehab Centre can now take you from an assessment for an acute injury in our private treatment rooms to providing after care programs in our newly expanded workout area comfortably in a modern facility.
If youβve never been exposed to physiotherapy or would like to see how the profession has grown to manage a myriad of different conditions, from ankle sprains to chronic pain, drop by for a visit or give us a call. You will be surprised how far weβve come.
