Port Alberni has long been known as A COMMUNITY WITH A HEART 🤍 and I’ve partnered with Cloud City to update the classic retro design for modern times. I’m excited to sell these hoodies to celebrate our amazing community and to support my healing journey with stage IV colon cancer.
I am a mom, teacher, and proud resident of the Alberni Valley. Last August, I completed 17 rounds of chemo, and am working closely with my Naturopathic Doctor for high dose vitamin C IV, localized hyperthermia, mistletoe therapy, targeted supplements & off-label drugs to support the conventional medicine. Currently, these treatments cost more than my mortgage payments.
In September, I returned to work part time, teaching the brand new Junior Alternate BRIDGE program at ADSS. I love being back to the classroom working with students and coworkers. Unfortunately, new scans indicate that the cancer progressed while on the chemo break. This was difficult news to hear and means that I’m now off of work for a new targeted treatment (IV every two weeks and daily pills) with B.C. Cancer and also begin weekly mistletoe IV with my Naturopathic Doctor. We are very hopeful this will shrink what’s there and to stop further cancer growth. I aim to manage side effects and return to teaching as soon as possible.
