During National Birth Workers Week, Birthing Families Foundation is highlighting the importance of collaborative care—where each provider’s knowledge and role is respected and families remain at the centre of decision-making.

Birth keepers carry cultural and community knowledge.

When birth workers collaborate rather than compete, families benefit.

Join Birthing Families Foundation for a hands-on, skill-building workshop designed for perinatal support workers across related fields.

This in-person 5-hour training (with a 1-hour break) builds confidence supporting families through:

To make learning accessible across communities, this one-day workshop is also offered in Nanaimo (March 22) and Port Alberni (March 28) on Vancouver Island.

Love these days when we get to go together and see clients

The Culture of Life team is on the move today, traveling between Port Alberni & Nanaimo to visit and celebrate all of the families we have supported recently through their birth journey. These postpartum visits are a mix of newborn snuggles, some dishes & lots of breastfeeding 💛

Join Birthing Families Foundation for a hands-on skill-building workshop designed for perinatal support workers across all related fields.

This in-person 5-hour training (including a 1-hour break) focuses on collaborative care and informed decision-making. Through practical learning, participants will build confidence supporting families who may experience an unplanned home birth, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) involvement, and/or transfer of care from home to hospital.

At the request of our communities, this one-day workshop is being offered in three Vancouver Island locations to make learning more accessible:

A hospital in New York welcomed a 4lb baby and a 13lb baby just hours from each other.

2 babies on the opposite ends of size.

Our bodies are pretty incredible.
