Sharing a free course!!

I have had the privilege of engaging in learning with ECPN, and the experience truly deepened my thinking and expanded my practice as an educator. Their work invites reflection, curiosity, and new ways of seeing the possibilities within our work.

Registration for the Spring 2026 cohort of Waste-as Material: Reimagining the ECE Classroom is now open! This is a free, publicly funded professional development opportunity for early childhood educators in British Columbia.

This four-part course, developed by ECPN and ECEBC within the re:materia project, invites educators to rethink waste materials in early childhood spaces. The course content provides a framework for understanding materials and waste as active participants in ECE, and each module is designed to connect participants with other educator colleagues who want to rethink waste creatively.

Each module in this four-module course combines a Zoom session with self-paced online learning, offering a total of 22 Pro-D hours upon completion.

Hi everyone! I’m opening a Montessori Childcare Center in Port Alberni, in a newly renovated beautiful space. I’m looking for a passionate Early Childhood Educator to join the team from the very beginning.

This is a unique opportunity to:

Work in a calm, child-centered environment

Help shape the classroom and daily routines

Grow with a new center and contribute to its culture from day one

Position Details:

$23 (plus $6 BC Gov. wage enhancement for ECE)

Part time or possible full-time,

Consistent schedule

Paid professional development

Paid sick days after probation

Start date: March 11th

We’re looking for someone who:

Has Montessori training or experience (preferred but not necessary)

Holds a BC ECE or ECEA license

Values respectful, calm, child-focused learning

Enjoys collaborating in a small, dedicated team

Enjoys learning with children in nature
