Reflections from Stream | Small places, big shifts - https://mailchi.mp/gentlydownthestream.ca/small-spaces-big-shifts

Small places can hold surprising tension — and when we bring gentle attention there, everything can begin to shift.

This week’s reflection explores how awareness, curiosity, and practice come together in the body and in community.

Happy Spring, and happy 8 years of Stream — flowing through people showing up for themselves and each other.

Over the weekend we gathered for “Resting in the Heart.”

Together we turned toward the heart — not only its warmth, but also the places where it contracts. We met resistance, ill-will, and fear with curiosity and kindness, learning how the mind protects itself and how gently it can soften.

Through meditation, walking practice, shared meals, and quiet reflection, we practiced cultivating safety, care, and kindness — first within ourselves, and then extending outward in widening circles to others and the world.

These were the verses we practiced together:

May I be happy and peaceful
May you be healthy and strong
May we be safe and protected
May all live with ease

Gratitude to this beautiful sangha — new and seasoned practitioners alike — who helped create such a gentle and sincere field of practice.

Join us in the Hut this Sunday at 10am for Circle of Light — a simple gathering for shared silence and open inquiry.

Formerly called A Quiet Mind Satsang, we’re renewing our commitment to the original intention of these monthly sessions: a non-hierarchical space to sit together, listen deeply, and see what naturally unfolds in the circle.

You’re warmly welcome. Offered freely, donations welcome.
