Before you write a long list of New Year’s health resolutions, try asking yourself three questions:

1️⃣ What’s my real energy level right now?
Are you already at 7/10… or closer to 2/10? The lower your tank, the gentler and more focused your plan needs to be.

2️⃣ What would make the biggest difference in the next 4–6 weeks?
Instead of trying to fix everything, choose 1–2 changes that would actually move the needle for your energy, mood, or sleep.

3️⃣ Is this doable on my worst week, or only on a perfect week?
Plans that only work when life is calm usually fall apart fast. Aim for small, repeatable habits that you can keep going even when work, kids, or stress ramp up.

If you’re ready to set calmer, more realistic health goals this year instead of another all‑or‑nothing reset, comment READY and I’ll send you the link to book a free Health Strategy Session with me in Port Coquitlam.

New year, same burnout?

If you’re already exhausted, the pressure to overhaul your life in January can feel more like a weight than a fresh start. You’re told to sleep more, move more, eat better, meditate, drink water, take supplements… and by week two it’s overwhelming, so nothing sticks.

For many of the working parents and professionals I see, what actually works is choosing 1–2 meaningful shifts and building them into a calm, realistic plan: things that are doable on your worst weeks, not just on a perfect week. That’s where step-by-step strategy matters more than big resolutions.

If you’re ready to start this year with a calmer, more strategic approach to your health instead of another all‑or‑nothing reset, comment READY and I’ll DM you the link to book a free Health Strategy Session with me in Port Coquitlam.

"By the time I get home, there’s nothing left in the tank."

If that feels familiar, you’re not alone. Many people can hold it together for work and family, but by the end of the day there’s no energy left for their own health. Even the best plan feels impossible when you’re already running on empty.

That’s why follow-up and accountability are built into how I work. In follow-up visits, we check what’s actually changing, remove what isn’t helping, and add the next step when you’re ready. The plan keeps adjusting to your real life instead of becoming just another thing to feel guilty about.

You don’t need more willpower; you need support and a strategy that respects your reality. The goal is steady progress, not perfection.

If you’re ending most days with nothing left in the tank, comment READY and I’ll DM you the link to book a free Health Strategy Session with me in Port Coquitlam.”

'There’s so much advice out there, I don’t even know where to start.’

Most people who come to see me already know a lot of health tips. They’ve been told to cut sugar, fix their gut, meditate, lift weights, sleep more, take supplements—the list goes on. All of those things can be helpful, but when you’re already at zero energy, trying to do everything at once is overwhelming.

In a first visit, we don’t aim for a perfect protocol. We build a clear, step-by-step plan that starts with what will move the needle most for you. We focus on a few key habits and supports that are realistic for your current energy and life, then build from there.

The goal is a strategy, not more scattered advice: a simple sequence that creates a positive feedback loop instead of another plan you feel guilty for not following.

If you’re tired of trying to do everything and not getting anywhere, comment READY and I’ll DM you the link to book a free Health Strategy Session with me in Port Coquitlam.

‘My labs are “normal” but I feel exhausted all the time.’

This comes up all the time. Your lab report might say “in range,” but that doesn’t always mean you feel well. There’s a difference between being technically normal on paper and feeling like yourself in real life.

In a first visit with me, we don’t just glance at a few numbers. We look at whether your results actually match your day-to-day experience—things like CBC, ferritin, B12, vitamin D, inflammation markers, stress hormones and more, in the context of your story. The goal is to understand what’s happening inside your body, not just check boxes.

Sometimes, more advanced testing (like hormone panels, food sensitivity testing, or other specialty labs) can help narrow down the plan and remove guesswork. But we only use those when they’ll make your treatment clearer and more tailored to you, not just because they’re available.

If you feel “fine on paper” but definitely don’t feel fine in real life, comment START and I’ll DM you the link to book a free Health Strategy Session with me in Port Coquitlam so we can go over your story and your labs together.

"I only had 10 minutes and could bring up ONE symptom."

This is one of the most common things I hear from people dealing with burnout, brain fog, and ‘tired all the time.’ There just isn’t enough time in a typical visit to tell the whole story.

In a first visit with me, we slow things down. We talk about your energy from morning to night, your sleep (and the doom scrolling), stress and mood, digestion, periods, headaches, and more. We do this not to make it complicated, but because your body doesn’t live in separate boxes.

The goal is to actually understand what’s going on underneath your fatigue, so any testing or treatment is thoughtful instead of random. Your story is the starting point, not something we rush through at the end.

If you’ve ever felt rushed or dismissed when you tried to explain everything that’s going on, comment START and I’ll DM you the link to book a free Health Strategy Session so you can see what it might look like to work together.

Burnout and low iron can look almost identical from the outside: crushing fatigue, brain fog, more anxiety, and feeling like small tasks take a huge amount of effort. For menstruating adults, low iron is one of the most common, and most easily missed, contributors to this burnout‑style fatigue.

Ferritin, your iron storage marker, can show up as ‘in range’ on your labs but still be low for you, especially if you also notice things like heavier periods, hair shedding, feeling cold, or getting short of breath with small exertion. That doesn’t mean everyone with fatigue should start iron; guessing with iron can cause problems if your levels are already normal or high. It does mean that if you’ve been told it is ‘just stress’ but your symptoms feel out of proportion, it might be worth a closer, structured look at ferritin, B12, thyroid, inflammation, and your nervous system together.

Comment “IRON” if you want more help understanding what to ask for at your next appointment and how low iron fits into a bigger, root‑cause plan for your energy rather than another quick fix.

Magnesium has become the default recommendation for anyone who can’t sleep, feels tense, or lies awake with a busy brain. Some research suggests that when magnesium is low, people are more likely to struggle with staying asleep and waking multiple times at night, not just with falling asleep. That is why some notice better sleep depth and less muscle tension when they correct a deficiency.

But magnesium isn’t magic. On its own, it usually doesn’t fix chronic insomnia, burnout, or a nervous system that has been running in survival mode for years. Many adults test something like 200–400 mg of magnesium glycinate in the evening, with guidance from their provider, while also working on stress, screens, blood sugar, and nervous system regulation.

If magnesium alone hasn’t moved the needle for your sleep, it might be your body asking for a bigger, root‑cause plan, not just a higher dose. Comment “SLEEP” if you want more ideas for building calmer nights that go beyond a single supplement.

Stress, Burnout and Chronic Disease Series

Part 1: The impact of Perceived Stress on Burnout and Chronic Disease

Stress is a part of life, but how does chronic stress lead to a myriad of health issues? One of the main players in the stress response is the HPA (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal) axis, which regulates cortisol production. Chronic stress can cause dysregulation of this HPA axis, which can be a big contributor to chronic disease. In this blog series, we'll explore the connection between stress, the HPA axis, and chronic disease, and provide tips for managing stress and supporting the HPA axis for better health.

*Green Tea Fact!*

Did you know that Green tea is the main (and one of the only) sources of L-theanine in nature?

L-theanine is an amino acid that has been used to reduce anxiety and stress, improve mental function, and promote a state of "calm wakefulness."

It's said that ancient samurai would drink green tea in order to calm themselves, clear their heads, and get into a 'zen' state before battle.

Although many people take supplements containing L-theanine, you can also get L-theanine (as well as a ton of other benefits) from consuming Green Tea!
