Many of you may know Jake, our facilities manager of 10 years, and a great friend of Hope for Freedom. He has an unforgettable beard, a cool bike and a big heart.

10 years of continuous recovery today. Jake is charged with the enormous responsibility of keeping all of our buildings in a state of good repair, and our vehicles safe and operational - a truly valuable member of the Hope for Freedom crew! Congrats Jake - thank you for everything you do!

Our most sincere congratulations to senior intake worker and chaplain-in-training Janco J. for reaching the 4 year sobriety milestone. HFFS relies heavily on Janco for handling those first-point-of-contact connections that may make a difference between life and death. Janco's value to this organization can not be overstated, and we are relieved to see that he returned safely from a recent trip to South Africa to see his family!

Congratulations to a long time friend, alumnus and all around inspiration to all those who believe that “we do recover”! Sean graduated the original HFFS program over a quarter of a century ago, and today he celebrated 27 years clean and sober. Sean is the one in the photo with slightly less fur.

On Friday Denise Kennedy, (on the right) our esteemed women’s director, celebrated a noteworthy milestone - 20 years of sobriety. Denise has worked with our women since 2005. She represents a wealth of experience, as well as a rare brand of compassion, empathy and knowledge - we would not have a women’s program without her! Thank you Denise for your years of loyal service and contributions to women in recovery!

Hope for Freedom Society would like to express our deepest gratitude for the extraordinarily generous donation of $90,000.00 from 625 Powell Street Foundation. This foundation supports "organizations and leaders whose daily work is about making meaningful and lasting differences in the lives of people facing challenges in; healthcare, mental health, addictions, homelessness, housing, cultural inequities, and others."
Your support has enabled us to purchase a 2024 Ford Transit T350, which will be an invaluable resource in our mission to assist women on their journey to recovery from substance use disorder.
The new van will play a crucial role in facilitating the transport and movement of our women to various appointments, engagements, and programming events. By providing this essential service, we can ensure that our women have access to the support and resources they need to achieve lasting recovery and personal growth.
