It’s another week at the clinic. It’s so important to prioritize your pelvic health as it truly does impact your quality of life.
Sometimes our pelvic issues hold us back from exercise for fear of leaking, or sometimes from pleasure because of pain with in*******se (both males and females can suffer from this).
Being pregnant and birthing a human, either vaginally or via c-section comes with their own recovery challenges along side looking after a helpless newborn.
A postpartum body often feels foreign to a new mom. It’s important to remember that 6 weeks is not adequate for recovery and it is more like 9-12 months. In Chinese medicine postpartum is 2 years.
We need to move and exercise our bodies to help with bone health, build muscle, cardiovascular health, maintain balance/flexiibility and our brain health.
We cannot let our pelvic floors limit our activities and our physical and mental health.
Please see a pelvic health physio if you are experiencing:
- stress urinary incontinence
- urge urinary incontinence
- mixed incontinence (stress and urge)
- pelvic organ prolapse
- dyspareunia (a fancy name for pain with
in*******se that both men & women can experience this)
- constipation
- birth preparation
- pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy
- discomfort in pregnancy
- postpartum core recovery and scar mobility
- interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome
- pre-prostatectomy prep and post prostatectomy rehab
- recovery from pelvic radiation treatment
- chronic pelvic pain (both make & female), post pelvic sugery recovery and so much more.
