🚤 BOAT CLEANING INJURIES ARE A REAL THING 😅

You started with:
🧽 “I’m just going to give the boat a quick clean.”

A few hours later:
😩 Sore back
😩 Achy shoulders
😩 Stiff knees
😩 Questioning every life decision while scrubbing algae off the trailer

Between bending, twisting, lifting coolers, scrubbing awkward angles, and climbing in and out of the boat… your body is basically doing a full workout without the warm-up. 💪😂

Common “boat day” injuries include:
⚓ Low back strain
⚓ Shoulder irritation
⚓ Neck stiffness
⚓ Knee pain
⚓ Tennis elbow from aggressive scrubbing 🧽

Tips to protect yourself:
✔️ Take stretch breaks
✔️ Lift with your legs
✔️ Switch sides often while scrubbing
✔️ Don’t try to finish everything in one marathon session
✔️ Hydrate… because “boat sweat” counts too ☀️

If your “quick clean” turns into pain that sticks around, Physiotherapy III is here to help get you back on the water comfortably! 🚤

🏃‍♂️ COMMON SPORTS INJURIES… or as we call them:
“Things we swore would never happen to us.” 😅

⚡ Rolled ankle chasing a ball you were definitely going to miss anyway
⚡ Pulled hamstring trying to “still move like you’re 20”
⚡ Sore shoulder from your “one more throw”
⚡ Knee pain after your “light jog” turned competitive
⚡ Back pain from being an elite-level weekend warrior 🏆

Sports injuries happen to everyone — from competitive athletes to the “I only play once a week” crowd. The good news? You don’t have to just “walk it off.”

Physiotherapy can help:
✔️ Reduce pain
✔️ Improve mobility
✔️ Speed up recovery
✔️ Prevent future injuries
✔️ Get you back in the game faster

At Physiotherapy III, we help keep your body moving — even when your competitive spirit gets a little too ambitious. 😉

🤔 What is Physiotherapy… and is it right for me?

Physiotherapy is more than just “treating injuries”—it’s about helping you move better, feel stronger, and get back to doing what you love. 💪

🧠 So what does a physiotherapist actually do?
✔️ Assess and diagnose movement issues
✔️ Treat pain, stiffness, and injuries
✔️ Improve strength, mobility, and balance
✔️ Create personalized exercise and recovery plans
✔️ Help prevent future injuries—not just treat current ones

💡 Physiotherapy may be right for you if you’re dealing with:
✔️ Back, neck, or joint pain
✔️ Sports or work-related injuries
✔️ Post-surgical recovery
✔️ Balance or mobility concerns
✔️ Ongoing stiffness or discomfort that just won’t go away

The goal isn’t just to feel better today—it’s to help you move better long-term. 🌿

📅 Not sure if physiotherapy is right for your situation? Come in for an assessment and let’s figure it out together.

Physiotherapy helps the people in Ontario stay independent.

For many people, independence means being able to walk safely, get up from a chair, climb stairs, leave the house, return to work, or take part in family and community life.

Physiotherapy supports strength, balance, mobility, falls prevention, pain management, and function, helping people stay active and engaged at every stage of life.

This National Physiotherapy Month, we're celebrating the physiotherapy professionals who help people keep moving with confidence.

🌟Healthy Kids Play (aka… Why Your Couch Isn’t Safe) 🌟

If your kids are bouncing off the walls… congratulations! 🎉 They’re basically doing physiotherapy without even knowing it.

Running, jumping, climbing, spinning in circles until they fall over (we’ve all seen it 😅)—this is how kids build strength, coordination, and balance. It might look like chaos, but it’s actually very important chaos.

🛝 Bonus: The playground is basically a full-body workout… just with more giggles and fewer gym memberships.

👟 Tip: Aim for 60 minutes of active play a day—or until they’re tired enough to consider sitting still (no guarantees).

So let them play, get messy, and burn that endless energy… your future self (and maybe your furniture) will thank you!

Physiotherapy moves recovery forward.

Whether someone is recovering from surgery, injury, illness, or a health event, physiotherapy plays an important role in helping people rebuild strength, mobility, function, and confidence.

Physiotherapists work with patients to understand their goals, support safe progress, and help them return to the activities that matter most.

This National Physiotherapy Month, OPA is celebrating the physiotherapy professionals who help people in Ontario move forward, one step at a time.
