Kelly: Dr Shrestha, who took over for Dr Collins, will be leaving his family practice in Port Hawkesbury next year.

You can read the letter that was sent to his patients on our site. It does say that recruitment for a replacement is ongoing so there may be a chance we won’t end up on the Need a Family Practice Registry.

That list is now sitting at 84,069 people as of September 1

Pictou Island, there's something big headed our way in the coming days!

As many of you know, our department responds to way more medical calls than anything else (good job being smart about fires Pictou Islanders!). Right now, if we have to move you to get you off the island, you're going in a wire basket in the back of a pick up...but not for much longer! I don't know about you, but I don't want that for my loved ones. So say hello to our new ambulance!

We have already received several generous donations towards this purchase, for which we are very grateful! For anyone wishing to help out, we will issue you a donation receipt for tax purposes. Thank you for helping us improve the speed and quality of our response!
